I took it upon myself to submit a petition regarding this matter. The following is the content of that submission:
Hopefully this is the right place for this, but:
The character owner of Sal Trent may have been scammed or hacked in some way. I received an ingame e-mail from "Sal Trent" (check my inbox) stating that my buy out post for 7 billion is accepted. Below is the content of that message:

I am locking this thread because it's mostly been derailed.
As a caution to anyone attempting character purchases, if you are purchasing a character with a capital i or a lower case L in the name, please make sure the person contacting you is the actual seller and not someone who has swapped those two characters (which are difficult to differentiate).
