Go on, surprise me. No need for surprises; your suspicion is confirmed. I've always said - and believed - that it is better a slave die than suffer another moment of captivity. If there is no means by which a slave may be saved - for example, a slave serving aboard an Amarrian's warship - then killing that slave in the destruction of the warship is not a tragedy but a triumph. He, or she, becomes a martyr to the cause of Freedom. He, or she, will be welcomed by the Ancestors with open arms and forgiveness for their failing to rise up themselves. The slave who dies having never been martyred, having never risen up, having never even tried to be Minmatar... that slave is shunned by the Ancestors. That is a tragedy.
By killing that slave, you are doing exactly the same thing you oppose slavers for: Making their life choices for them, taking their fate out of their own hands. It is hypocritical.
Most slaves would rather choose to live in servitude than be slain by "freedom fighters". Death isn't freedom.
And what is a tragedy, is the soul that is forever apart from God's light. By killing a slave who has not yet managed to embrace God, you have damned their soul for all eternity. |

The slave who would rather live in chains than escape through death has already had his soul ripped away; what lives in his flesh is no longer of Matar. His soul, thus, shunned. His life, thus, of no account. Sad, but common.
It is not incumbent upon us to rescue souls - the strength of the Matari soul is up to oneself to maintain. That is one of the biggest truths this youngest generation seems to forget.
To any true Minmatar slave who happens to be able to see or hear this message... I tell you, stay strong. For you, freedom will come. One way or another. Your people come for you. Come for them? Seems the Republic is too busy killing their allies to bother themselves in actually fighting their so called enemies. Or freeing their brothers.
How can you actually give such false hope to those people? |

How can you actually give such false hope to those people? The Republic has never been the primary actor in the liberation of slaves, pilot.
Once, I had hopes that Sanmatar Shakor would change all of that. He still may... he still may. But we capsuleers have resources and freedoms that political entities don't. My corporation alone retrieved over one million slaves from the Empire only a few years ago. The Tribal Liberation Force remains steadfast in their efforts, regardless of fortunes, and that is a force made up of capsuleers, not government regulars.
It's not about the Republic, it's about the People.
And the People come for ours every chance we get.

Some day the horrors that you commit will catch up to you, child. I only pray that the realization won't be as jarring for you as it was for me. The reality of that which I have done came as a sundering blow to me. I still reel, most nights.
