Hello i want all of the honest opinions of everyone and anyone who has ever had the experience of caring for a POS.
My Question is whether it was a pain in the arse and barely profitable or was it easy and enjoyable?
Please reply to this thread and vote with the number that represents your opinion:
vote "1" for unprofitable, boring, and frustrating
vote "2" for profitable, but still frustrating and boring.
vote "3" for profitable, but fun and enjoyable and easy to take care of.
vote "4" for unprofitable, but fun and enjoyable, but hard to take care of.
vote "5" for unprofitable, but fun and enjoyable but easy to take care of.
Also please state how long you think the "novelty" of having a POS wears off. In terms of weeks months , etc.
Thank you very much for filling out this survey.

"3", profitable, enjoyable but never easy to take care of : you need a big logistic plan and must consider things in terms of space (number of jumps, cargos) and time (periodicaly emptying the silos, fueling).
I've had POS since they exist, except the 3-4 first months after Exodus came because it was definitly not profitable due to the unfair concurrence of the agents rewards composed of T2 construction components. At this moment my POS remained in the hangar.
My corp is running many POS since 8 months now and with time we learned to be more and more efficient in our POS's managment and logistic. Drastical organization is the key.

But due to recent rl issues I have had with making the every 3 day silo runs I decided they are better either offline or stored away in hangars until I can focus on them again. |

One industrial delivery per week? You must be running a small POS.
I'll vote 3, but I stick to the .3 to .1 systems and tend to run small and medium towers so I'm very close to Empire and it doesn't take much time to keep everything running.

Ditto. I have done a lot of POS stuff over the last 9 months and I am sick unto death of them. The free-fall in prices following the double of complex reaction yields moved them into 1 from 2 IMHO.

Hmm, yup I'd start at 5... then after a few months moved to 4. Recently more like 2 and I can see it ending at 1 ... what happened to 3

I think you should define profitable :) Mining ice and mining a lowend that pays 20% more than the tradegoods cost you is still technically making a profit, no matter that it takes many hours for a tiny payoff. ---------------------------- T2 Destroyers: a proposal Requested Changes: An alphabet's worth |

Not really.
The ice used to fuel the POS is a factor of production and its price should be included in cost of production. You'd be running at a loss.

I vote 6: Buggy as hell, a pain in the ass to maintain. I especially enjoy hanging out with GM's for a few hours every few days to try to figure out what the hell the POS's are doing.
POS's seem to work fine though, if nobody attacks them, or tries to enter the forcefield.

3, but hard work.
I see especially the contracts are hard work since suppliers and buyers change (leaving game or so)
