Since the combat log doesnt output to a text file outside of the game (at least not that I can find), I think anything that analysed the in-game combat log would break the EULA.
Although I might be wrong.

the combat logs are stored in the eve file on your harddrive, cant remeber exacly where but there is a folder called logs i think, its in a different folder to chat logs. try the cache folder. definately there i have used it only last week. it is an exact copy of the ingame one but obviously in notepad format.

Excellent? I bet it's named something obvious that I missed :(
I never managed to find that, because I planned to parse it at one point to work out some DPS numbers, and I couldnt. It sucked.
Cheers for the pointer.

no I know exactly what you're looking for, it was a program that hunted through all the logs in your cashe and outputed your damage stats for all the guns you've been using.
I can't find it anymore though

it's pointless anyway. Not all hits in combat are logged, only the ones that display on the screen - you know, that "your tech 2 womble cannon perfectly strikes A Poor N00b, wrecking for .3 damage." The problem is really noticeable with high rof guns.

I thought that was fixed so that it shows all combat hits rather than 1 per second? I've certainly noticed it shows a lot more entries than it did before.

Edited by: Alar Tangor on 28/11/2005 10:38:21 The ingame logs are stored in the eve folder -> Capture -> Gamelogs Good luck on finding the one you want though since it seems to start a new log each time you dock/move to another system so there are plenty of logs reading X:X x.x.x Warping From station A to Stargate B end of log On the other hand i counted up to 4 combat events happening in the same second so im pretty much sure it logs everything

Yes I've got the log where I jump into system, then there is no log after that where I fought in a complex for the next hour. I've sorted them by time stamp.

Mmm yes. I cannot find the combat log from last night actually which is a shame because I wanted to find out whom exactly was scambled by whom. All the other logged info is there but not that entire section... I wonder if it's a problem with a recent patch? |

Unless the OP is talking about something different...the "Combat Log Analizer" is a product of "Future Falcon Enterprises" the same people who brought you the "Character Manager" and "Ship Fitting Tool" (Virtual Ship Yard?). This handy tool did not require you to go into the "guts" of the Eve cliant to find your combat logs, the program did it for you.
As I remember the tool working, you could search for your combat logs by time / date / ship involved. The data given included damage you inflicted as well as damage your ship recieved. It would give information as to who you were fighting, the weapons used, I think when, and I do not think it told you where the combat happened.
All of this was downloadable from the "Eve-I" site. Now this site is down, I do not know where to find any of these programs. I hope someone can find these programs as I would love to get them again. I lost them when I went to Iraq and would love to get them reinstalled.

Yeah, all of them are registered now. At least damage breakdowns seem to indicate as much.

That's no problem, just look at the size of the file and usually you can figure out which one contains combat logs, 'cause it'll be large compared to all others. Usually the files are 1-2 KB, a combat log will be noticeably larger even if it was a short encounter.
