Let's hear about some of the stuff you immediately say to people when you convo them before extortion/attack. Do you have a set announcement you say every time? Do you mix it up? Let's hear some of the stuff you say to your victims and some of the replies you get back!

I took on a brutix recently at the gates. He started shooting back  I responded
 > You dare fire back?
You don't get much time to talk when your manageing systems, taking sentry fire and watching scanner for the other people in local.

I can see that one wouldn't do much typing once the fight commences. I was thinking more along the lines of what it is that you pirates say to your victims BEFORE you fire up your guns.

I nearly always incorporate "sir" or "m'am" into anything i say whenever i attempt a ransom, just makes it more classy.
I generally like to RP a pirate :)

my standard aproach is something like "give me XX mill or u die u have 5 seconds to send the money" and then i countdown and i allways say "have a nice day" afterwards no matter if they pay or get blown up/podded
some might think this method is at little rough with the time strictness but its to prevent ship losses of my own
most of the victim reply's i have gotten though is not suited for a forum a few ppl threathen to hunt me down though i have never gotten hunted down
but most just talk about my mother/father/sister/brother which ever they prefer to do something nasty to in my experience
the nice customers are mostly silent and say nothing other then general talk about the ransom my personal favorite would be either "no thx" or "yes ill pay" 
...

If I convo a pod for a ransom it's usually...
"care to save yourself a cloning trip?"
While when they convo me after getting pie-ratted I always say into the convo channel first
"what can I do for you today ma'am/sir?"

I guess i could be polite and say:
So sorry sir for pulling a gun on you, but you see i need some cash from you or i will kill you.
And still i have this feeling that 99% of the times ill get an answer thats some what like this:
f** y** a**whipe; sc** you; big chance, or just the simple kill me im not paying.
So i no longer see any point in beeing polite since i almost never get that back, but thats not to hard to understand.
But then Aunenen might be a bad place to ransome ppl.
Go out and try it for your selfe, but i recommend that you use something else then the reaper youre most likley flying now.

Just set the guns going and pray that I win.
Can't stand the idea of ransomming, its the modules and loot that brings the isk, not this this lame ransomming idea, I'm a pirate, not a kidnapper. As in A Pirate is someone who kills/Steals/scuttles/blows up/commandeers for the LOOT, a kidnapper ransoms people.
But I have said "boo" or "yarr" before pressing F1 2 F8. |

I usually open with a YARRR!!!!
It then tends to be along the lines of "This be a ransom, yarr, pay me xxx or ya lose yer ship"
I always close with "Fly safe(r)"
I've been having a good run of ransom attempts, well, the ones that don't get away that is.
Main thing is, always polite, never abusive, no matter what.
I'm not famous, nor infamous.

I nomally just say in PM, Hi Ransom then I'll kill you if you don't pay xxx isk you have xx secs, normally returns me with a flashing wallet, and I always end with

Sort and sweet as your never to sure who might drop in, also I'll only randsom if i'm in the mood if I just want kills then its bad luck for them I'll kill them with out a randsom. kil kill kill

I've been using "Give me Xm and you are free to go" when I feel I have the time/security to do it.. Haven't worked so far tho :| .. I think "polite/classy requests" and fair ransoms (ie. don't ask 10m for a cara  ) is the way to go.

I mostly say (x)mil for your pod sir
if they pay i say thx u r free to go, but if they refuse i tell them to say hi to the station for me.
I find if u are nice they tend to pay.
Although i ask very small amounts as i dislike the large sec hit (yes i'm a ***** ;p)

I just hold her down and let my CEO do the talking: "x mil and you can keep the ship". Mind you, this often results in the victim trying to stall the ransom for some reason, resulting in us stripping some more structure of him and demand him to pay. Those who still won't pay almost always lose their pod as well, because if they're not gonna pay to keep their battleship they probably don't care about their corpse either. Most people in low sec and 0.0 doesn't have any implants anyhow, or are too rich to bother about clone costs.
A typical ransom goes like this:
*victim is scrambled and severely beaten*
CEO: 20 mil and you can go
Victim: stop shooting!
CEO: Alright, we have ceased fire, now pay
Victim: Ok ok, I'll pay!
CEO: Wire the ISK to me
*time passes by, victim repairs damage*
Victim: DONT SHOOT!
CEO: Stop your ship and stop repairing if you want to keep it
*Gang makes sure the ship integrity remains dangerously low*
CEO: Pay us now or die
Victim: Wait, sending the ISK
CEO: You have 10 seconds
Victim: hold on! Im sending the ISK now!
*more time passes by*
CEO: This is only 5 mil, pay the rest, or else.
Victim: I pay 5 now and the rest when Im safe ok?
*gang starts shooting some more*
Victim: Ok ok here is the rest!
CEO: Thank you and have a nice day!

i use various approachs for pods, however not many like to pay, once this has be determined (usually by the victims use of select insults regarding sexuality or sexual passtimes) i have taken to threatening to keep them there for at least an hour unless they cough up a smaller amount, this leads to most initiating self destruct.

I will once I get some skill points on this character. I will remain in my rifter though, just to see if I can . I used to play a miner / industry character, and I always choose the 'or else' whenever someone tried to ransom me, so I'm not really surprised that some pirates report hardly ever getting a ransom. I remain confident that I shall have better luck though!
