I love eve but these forums are pretty one sided.
We obviously all like it - we're here, so why not say one thing we like, one thing that would make us happy to lose.
Don't post now, have a coffee or reply to a few more threads and think about it.
Happy thoughts: You can get killed for no greater reason thah someone wanted to kill you - and thats fine!
Bad thoughts: I'm a 6 month account and too scared to move into 0.0, I mine down to 0.1 with the normal paranoia but 0.0 has a special fear for me.

Good: Complex Market System Bad: Not enough tools in-game to fully take advantage of the market. I.e. a way to simply copy and paste your transaction history into an excel spreadsheet would be nice. Seriously though, I like the fact that PvP is thrilling and exciting because of what you risk when you go into it. I don't like the fact that it makes people afraid of PvP as a result.

Good, i'm gonna contradict myself in another post but my opions changed.. the gm who delt with my previous support problem was very polite and sorted it very quickly so i thank him for that..
Bad, when the server goes down when ur halfway out in space or u loose ur ship due to server kicking u out and someone sat locking ur "ghost ship" and logging back in in a pod
we all moan about how bad ccp are, but to be frankly honest we could have it alot alot worse like the guys who play wow do.. so all in all

Good: I could say PVP (Oh god yeah) and being able to make an impact but CCP really wins for their dedication, you can see they love the game.
Bad: Lag has to be number one, loosing a ship to lag or being locked out and repeatedly trying to get back in before a covert gets your location is no fun, although now we call truce with our war enemies when it happens.

Good: The Market!!!
Bad: Some missions takes too long and you don't have any control on how long next mission will be. Sometimes I just want to login for half an hour, do a mission and logout, and it happens that I get a long missions that takes 2 hours to finish. So I can just wait until I have enought time to do it to play again. Declining it is not an option since it goes against the count for special storyline missions :(

(If you wanna PVP more CCP lower the insurance rate then ppl will go deeper and fight more) - 0.0 space full of bored out pirates - > 0.4 Space full of carebear [me and miner corp] cause you can't go out without getting your pod handed to you in a plate - False advertisement for Reverse Eng. and other game options (one day maybe I hope, probably more on the Chinese server ;)

Good: One of the only decent games around that is playable with a good 56K modem connection (damn my telco, they promised me high speed was "coming soon")
Bad: That no matter how good your connection is, if you try for the "epic fleet battles" we were promised with 60 or more people fighting, the good money is betting most if not all of you will lag to the point where it won't be much fun whether you win, lose or draw. Let alone if you kill a node and the fight doesn't work at all :P

Bad: Not enough PvP, which is bad considering it is a PvP game. Many reasons for this. One of them is that it's hard to find a fair fight. Encounters are usually one-sided, so most PvP is of the cat-and-mouse variety. The high cost of fielding a battle-worthy ship also makes people squeamish about taking risks. Battles are also too short, leaving little room for error. Game seems to be centered on alliance fleet v. fleet battles, but they don't happen often enough.

Nukeitall, there is a perfect explanation to the reason of flying through planets and station while warping. If you plug in the skill book on the warp core intergrity theories. You will understand that while the warp core is active it will create a folded space around the ship through a warp bubble and basically give the apperance that the ship is dematerialised. The analogy is cloaking, you know the ship is there but no one can see it. As long as the ship is protected by the warp bubble it is unaffected by materia around it. The only trick with warping is to come out of warp inside objects, i.e. a planet or a asteroid. There have been stories about reckless pilots that have boasted of warping right into hangar or onto a surface of a planet without needing to pass through the atmosphere etc. But the risk associated to this is offcourse not worth it, as many pilots under the influence of narcotis have shown (like the guy who ended 500m under the surface of the ground and was basically burried alive).

Bad: Limited travel, combat environments and solar systems are tactically tiny. We have to "zone" way too often for a mmog. Even securing non-consensual pvp requires tricking an opponent into zoning.  Targetting Sig Variance -- "Everything I love is combustible." |
