[1] Wouldn't it be cool if you could download a program which connected you to the chat window so that you could talk to people who ar in-game when you yourself are not, Lots of people use Msn Messenger right? Why not make a plug-in available only off this web site and only useable to people with accounts. Bad idea or Good? YOU DECIDE (Then tell me) -------------------------------------------- NEW! 1/1 scale assembled plastic model benco97, Six different poses, Buy one NOW!* *not suitable for people under 21, May include some small parts and/or traces of nut |

[3] i dont personaly like this idea as it would become very confusing as to who is ingame and who isnt, as for an msn plug in.......look at the layout of ingame chat does it look anything like msn.....it would need to be irc or sumthin. but as i said not a good idea i dont think |

[5] Agree that this isn't a good idea. Either play the game or stay out. |

[7] IMO I dont think this is that bad of an idea really I need a way to talk to the guys in game when im not like right now i am at work and I wish that I could contact my corp mates and see what is going on but we dont msn each other with normal im or anything else so its hard and I currently can't play at work so Im stuck with no ability to contact them in anyway a plugin or even a seperate progy for this to have ability to contact ingame people would be a great thing. |

[9] Hi, Thanks for feedback, All views welcome. If it was a messenger plug-in it could change the way messenger works, I suggested a plug-in because many people have messenger and it would be quicker to download a plug-in than an entire stand alone program.I dont belive that it would get confusing, I very rarely ask anyone to help me so I wouldn't care if they were online or not, I just would like to chat to them, Keep them updated while thay can't use EVE but do have accsess to the net i.e with an older laptop on a train. Just an idea anyhow -------------------------------------------- NEW! 1/1 scale assembled plastic model benco97, Six different poses, Buy one NOW!* *not suitable for people under 21, May include some small parts and/or traces of nut |

[11] Persons using this messenger could have their names modified to a predesignated color, so as to distinguish between those ingame and those out. |

[13] While this idea would be a fun addition, it's open to exploit. Corp A camps a gate, a station, or an asteroid belt, Corp B or an unsuspecting player warps in. Scout from Corp A sends message to offline people standing by, "LOG IN!" Then Corp B or unsuspecting traveller gets ambushed. Then the you get a post on the boards roughly ten minutes later that gets locked for rampant flaming. This "exploit" has already been used by people running EVE in windowed mode, while chatting on messenger services and giving the signal. There's always someone that will ruin the spirit of the game. |

[15] This is a good idea, think of what it would mean to mega crops (200+ memebers) you need to fill orders give dircetions set stuff up, and you cant do it all in game, theres simply to much, you have to do most of that organization outside the game so being able to tell people what needs to be done in game while you are not would be really handy for big corps, but i dont see a purpose for solo'ers, if you wanna talk, go on? [20] I agree with the original poster. I for one play (although cancelling soon because EVE is much better) Everquest 2. EQ2 has a chat system, through a web browser, that allows you to chat with your guild (or in eve's case corporation). It doesn't allow you to see anyone else online but guild members. What happens is that you, being offline, do not show up online to the guild members. You can just talk, so they know you're there but they know you're not online. You can also send private messages to others not in your guild. **Why this is good** Being a guild leader (or head ina corporation or higher up in corp) you can't always be in game. Sometimes when at work and I have downtime, I like to check in, say hi, maybe help a bit if I can. A web interface that allows you to chat with your corp and send private messages to people in your address book would be an awesome tool.
