Ok, ive been having this really, really stupid problem with the gravatronic subsystem in my Vexor recently. For the life of me I cant figure what is wrong with it. You simply can't understand how embarrasing it is to find that the gravity level in your bathroom has gone from 1G to 0.3G or even 0G! until it has happened to you (trust me it isnt pretty). The stupid thing is that the problem isnt even consistant. I mean yesterday i'm walking down a corridor on deck 3 and the whole area goes crazy! the gravity level changed from a nominal 0.987G to 1.987, I thought I was gonna be a clone for sure! And another time the problem appeared in the canteen, and a guest was almost pancaked (not good for business I assure you). Ive had the ship in for maintainence at a Caldari Construction Station in Dantumi three times in the last week, I've even had some of the people who actually MAKE gravatronic subsystem look at it, and no-one can give me an explanation as to what the problem is. So has anyone else experianced a similar problem? I heard that thier was a problem like this with Thoraxs a while ago, but i'm not sure. I hope someone knows what the problem is because I dont think I can put up with it much longer, talk about gremlins! -----------------

I'm not normally one to advertise but maybe you should consider buying your next ship from the Hadean Driveyards.

While I've never run into problems with the Gravity thingymabob (To use it's technical term) I've often had difficulties with the breaking system...
I mean, come on...what's the point of having "brakes", or the ability to cut my ship's engine power, if the thing will keep travelling for over 10 kilometres more? Or even better....if the system doesn't respond after being activated _five_ times!
It does not look good on a Miner's record when their ship careers into a goddamn Asteroid!

Janet,
A nice braking maneuver is to double-click on an empty part of space directly behind you. Your ships will slow down much more quickly and, when it is almost all the way turned around, select "Stop Ship".

Be careful with that artificial gravity system! Today my ship's computer erroneously diverted all power from the main reactor into that system. It initiated a resonance cascade effect within the warp containment field, emitting a shockwave through subspace. The shockwave affected every ship in the starsystem, causing a temporary shutdown of all ship systems (effectively rendering the pilot "stuck"). A letter explaining this rather dangerous quirk has been sent to the manufacturer of the artificial gravity system, with the recommendation they add an automatic emergency override to prevent this from happening again.

Edited by: Kalr Makka on 07/11/2003 00:09:09 Hmm.. interesting..
I'm making some tests on this, but I think its got something to do with the neutron particles in the fabric of the gravatronic housing. Their alignment can cause variations in the field created within the coil itself.. but how to fix the problem is an unknown element at this time.
I'll keep working on it..

maybe you have a space mouse/rat hidden in your ship.
I know some stations had problems with them. Maybe 1 entered your ship??
I wish you good luck.

Ive almost forgotten about this incident. But now you've brought it up.... I can remember Dave Uberliver puking on one of my consoles... that could have caused it.

Flamethrowers? Against a space mouse? For shame! Think of the collateral damage... not to mention the smell! You need a Robo-Kat 9000 Cybernetic Mouser, the latest in cybernetic pest control. They're cheap (less than half the cost of a well-fitted combat frigate), effective (guaranteed to catch at least 10% more space mice than ordinary wire traps), and loyal (over 85% of Robo-Kats never turn against their owner during their full 5-year operational life). Order yours today! Satisfaction guaranteed or your money back!*

Best way to catch a space mouse is to send a Minnie after it *grins and warps away really -really- fast*

Edited by: Road Kill on 08/11/2003 22:49:34 Yup reckon it was Dave Uberliver, think it was after his Dave o'death bevie, he said he wondered what effect it would have if he drank it in zero grav.. and well it didn't sit right.. so he did just chuck it back up, The stuff is really acidic, could still be eating straight through it. So you had better check out your hull plates, don't want your crew being sucked into space.
