I've completed all of the career tutorials except for Advanced Military. I'd like to start doing some lvl 1 missions before starting the Advanced Military tutorial, and I'd read somewhere that upon completing the basic Military one, you are referred to Sister Alitura to begin the Bloodstained Stars arc. However, my agent only told me to check in with the other career agents, which doesn't help me since they've nothing more to offer me. Is there any way to unlock the SoE agents--or any other lvl 1 agents--without a referral? |

Advance Military is really easy, and, IIRC, you will get a better ship and skill book(Destroyer), which you will need for the Blood Stained Stars. You might want to go ahead and do it. Like I said, its real easy. Should only take an hour or so. |

The only agents you need to "unlock with a referral" are storyline agents.
You can go do the SoE arc with a brand new character, no referral needed, just fly to Arnon and talk to Sister Alitura. |

There's no "correct" way of doing it, but the normal method is to finish all the career tutorials before doing the SoE arc, which takes you all over New Eden highsec.
What makes you think the advanced military tutorial has nothing to offer? The destroyer alone is well worth having. |

Sorry, I didn't mean to suggest that it didn't have anything to offer. I should have worded that better. What I meant to say was that aside from that tutorial, the other agents didn't have any more missions to give since I'd completed all the other career tutorials already.
I'll take everyone's advice and do the Advanced Military tutorial before doing Bloodstained Stars. I'm also interested in lvl 1 distribution and maybe some security missions too, which is why I was asking about unlocking new agents. There are so many lvl 1 agents, but most of them seemed to be SoE and when I approached a few of them about doing distribution missions, they said they needed a referral first. |

Batiste Lapin wrote:I'm also interested in lvl 1 distribution Ah, young, naive newbies .
Level 1 distribution missions usually require you to ship 200m3 to a neighbouring system and pay 20k ISK. They are neither interesting nor do they pay well. You don't even need an Industrial for lvl 1 or lvl 2 missions, even most lvl 2 missions can still be done in one of the bigger Frigates (e.g. a Magnate) Generally speaking, missions pay scraps at lvl 1 and 2, so-so at lvl 3 and decently at lvl 4. You want to train the Connection skill to at least lvl 3 so that you can skip lvl 1 missions completely and then get to level 3 missions as quickly as possible. Especially for distribution missions, as anyone can run lvl 4 distribution missions with 1 hour of training.
It's the same thing for security (=combat) missions, although when you are just starting you will be more limited by your combat skills than your standings. E.g. you will get the 3.0 standing for lvl 3 missions much faster than decent Battlecruiser skills.

"Epic arc" agents do indeed need a referral. You must start the epic arc in Arnon and then, while doing the arc, you will get referred to other agents. Those agents won't talk to you until you reach the point in the arc where you have to contact them. But you don't need any referral to talk to the starting agent in Arnon. |

Yeah, the alternative interpretation of your post occurred to me a while after I replied - sorry about that.
Level 1 distribution is ok for a little easy income but it doesn't pay very well and could get very boring very quickly. Train a few levels of Connections and get up to Level 2 asap. |

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll get to work on improving my Connections skill. |
