Can anyone offer me any advice on upgrading my Power Grid? I have a Gallentian Frigate and I quite simply want to upgrade so I can fit more modules, but I cant because I have reached the power limit. Does each ship have its own set power limit or can I train a skill to improve it?

The skill Engineering will improve your Powergrid as far as i know thats the only skill that increases Powergrid.
You can also fit Power diagnostic Units (PDU's) or Reactor Control Units (RCU's)
The former gives a boost to multiple things shields, shield recharge, cap recharge and a Power grid increase.
The RCU's give you a Powergrid increase i think it's 10% on a RCU I

Train the skill called Engineering to add more powergrid.
There are also a few mods that gives you more powergrid:
-Power Diagnostic System
-Reactor Control Unit
-Micro Auxiliary Power Core (works best on frigates)
There are also skills that will reduce powergrid cost for some modules.
-Advanced Weapon Upgrades (lowers powergrid needs for turrets and launchers)
-Shield Upgrades (lowers powergrid needs for certain shield mods)
There might be more ways that I havn't thought off, but Im doing this from the top of my head.

I've already got my engineering skill to level 3, and my power grid shows 31 / 35.36 I wanna add another Light Newrtron Phase cannon but I cant because not enough power but thanks for your help, much appreciated

Engineering is one of those skills that you definately need to train to level 5, no matter what you're doing in this game. Electronics is another skill that must also be trained to level 5 eventually.

Use Ion blasters instead, or use a MAPC.

These skills added with Frigates lvl 5 eventually lead to Assault Frigate (fun to fly!)
