just make them dry cap all the time like they used to be, if the enemy ship have lees cap than the amount the module should leec just make them leech just whats left and no more than that, the amount of energy stolen is already ridiculous compared to a neut anyway.
as many have already say this fix dont adress the problem because ppl already use small nos for frigs its medium and especially large now that need love and with this change they gonna be even more useless, who will use a large nos? |

But you still seem to be missing the argument. On a Mechanical level this change to Nos' is the right one and the balanced one to agrue otherwise, is well dumb because they aren't going to further in boosting the mechanic of Nos. Now the stats of the different Nos' does need work but that isn't on the table in this thread yet.
this change dont adree the problem, small neuts are already popular and they are getting boosted, large nos are useless and they will be even more with this change. nos should drain always if the opponent have some cap to drain because the amount of energy transferred is kind of ok for small nos but it get ridicolously low for heavys and even then if thgis might seems too good a frig with a small nos would still able to tackle a BS with a heavy NOS because of the huge difference in cycle tyme, not to mention nos use more fitting than neut so they should be good at something, not just for reprocessing.

To the above points about PVE - I have investigated to make sure and I can say 100% that PVE will not be affected. The way NOS works in PVE is not the same as it works in PVP (gosh the PVE system needs work) and so it won't behave any differently. who cares about pve anyway. why you ppl keep pushing to the usage of small ships they are already very common, everyone use BC and lower its BS that are not used but you still keep boosting small mods over big ones |

Shadow Games wrote:First and formost, sorry if someone has already posted these thoughts but I can't read everything as I am on my phone. I flew the shield tanked nos curses back in the day. Flew the nos domis. The problem that I see with the nerf that was made is that it was a mechanic based change with out any way to get some effect back from skills. All the large nerfs have come with a skill change to make the playable and to be able to advance not necessarily back to full effect but to at least give pilots the sense that they were getting something back and to give a base to work from. All of the big changes have had a skill set with them. Drones, ECM, armor and shield, missiles... The list goes on. For a good change to take place you need to make the base kind of crappy and then have the max skill effect decent. Throw in a few skills that say reduce cycle time and increase cap transfer amount and perhaps one that increased the difference in cap neutable between the two ships and you might be getting somewhere. Another idea could make it more like EW with nossing. Keep neuting as it is but make nossing chance based with skills affecting if you can take or not. If it is chance based then you should be able to suck them dry. Like eccm, battery's could reduce the chance or being "cap jammed" so to speak. And it could have a skill set for chance based stuff like EW with certain ships getting role bonuses to it. Until then all I see this as is CCP owning up to an over nerf. With the proper change, you could actually see people employing nos again. But I still bet CCP ignores all of the good ideas and messes it up again. i dont see any skill that make my vaga go to 30km/s
