Veniel, brother to Admiral Ouria was today killed in an engagement with Ammarian forces. 95 ships took part in this short engagement.
Some reports suggest that Veniel may have been trying to avert hostilities, but was met with a fleet ready for action at any cost.
Veniel certainly was trying to negotiate for the life of Ouria just before the engagement. It has been suggested that unnamed Ammarian Council members may have ordered this attack to prevent any possibilty of peace with the Jovians.
We expect a swift and deadly response from the remaining brothers.
It is not though any useful item was recovered from the wreck.

I was there and witnessed this hostile act by SA . Veniel was pleading with sa to not pod kill his brother but to only pod him. Next thing was he was fired on and he said they will pay for this. I tried to warn Veniel of SA intentions but he did not listen. But I am sure Veniel will be back with his brothers to avenge his death ------------------

Edited by: Stavros on 11/08/2003 00:12:10 News has filtered out of stain rapidly due to the huge traffic the region is experiencing..
The news is not good, in a case of friendly fire it seems that one of the only hopes for the capture or destruction of the renegade jovians may have been lost.
Veniel, a jove agent sent to aid in the hunt was shot down by the huge allied fleet assembled in stain.
Much blame is being thrown and accussations of foulplay are rife.
Some are reasoning that the majority of the fleets complete lack of combat experience was a major contributing factor..
Still others say you cannot make a miner into a fighter no matter how many guns u give him..
All we can be sure of is that Ouria is laughing his genetically engineered ass off at the ineptitude of this wannabe police force.
Hi I'm Stavros, Welcome to jackass!

Since Veniel had a -0.4 security standing, and had been spotted in the same system as Ouria earlier this day, it's easy to understand some people made the mistake to open fire on him.

Yes, they killed me and my frigate for being too close to the cargo (10km?). The jovian didn't kill anyone - it took about 5 seconds to bring his ship down.

Stavros very funny.
But 100+ people waiting to kill a jovian and 1 pops in the system with no talk of non-hostile intentions isnt really down to lack of combat experiance, unless you guys train in telepathy for your combat situations, which i rarely doubt as you lost so many battles.

Scanners suggest that when Veniel warped into the Ammarian fleet - he unaccountably seemd to leave his controls, with the result that his ship lay defenseless for up to 2 mins.
For such an advanced race we have no explaination for what could have happened.

What can be the true intentions of the Jovians? The first one to appear in known space, fired on alliance members. The second one claimed he merely wanted to find his brother and bring him to the "High Council."
With more then 35 Stain battleships in sector, and a multitude of non-stain players, is it any wonder that the words of the Jovian were met with force, as the possibility of more Jovian treachary was in the air.
One might wonder, what lies ahead in the days to come.

Venial is a Jovian. He made the mistake of flying into a system where a massed fleet of brave warriors were massing to repell the Jovian invasion.
He tried to lie his way out of it. It didn't work. There was no request for any intermediary to negotiate anything. Nor was their any word from the so called Jovian High Council that they had sent any intermediary.
Without making any attempt to contact those he claimed he was helping, Venial entered hostile space that was already under attack by his brother. He did so knowing that hundreds of Stain Battleships were on the move to destroy any Jove ships they found.
Then he flew into a system filled with Battleships defending that space from the Jovian filfth who tried to invade it.
When you do such foolish things you die of terminal stupidity.

Thank you for pointing that out. It is regrettable that he was destroyed. In a twist of irony however it has been rumoured that he claimed revenge on his death, the irony is he came back to the region to help the people in Stain hunt his exiled brothers.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Fools! It was Veniel that was behind the original destruction of my ship. After my open refusal to obey his orders over those of The Emperor he was the one who ordered my destruction, and I quote.
"I only obey the orders of His Holiness, Emperor of Amarr," I "Then we must destroy you," Veniel "Very well," I "Long Live Amarr!" I
Shortly thereafter my ship was locked on by 4 hostile Jovian Battleships, and destroyed. But a key piece of information was captured, almost by chance but in fact by the Divine Intervention of His Supreme Will - Ouria was the last Jovian to lock on to my ship.
None other than Veniel was the one who was behind these deeds of evil, and none other than Veniel seeks to crush all Amarrians into his bread intermingling suckling on Satan's nipples with feasting on the souls and bones of our children.

In other news (which i haven't seen yet mentioned so here it goes) one of the Jovians destroyed yesterday was strongly insisting the information about the sickness of general Ouria is nothing but misinformation spread by CONCORD. Might have been a lie of his own, but who can really tell for sure? With the still fresh series of scandals, Concord is at this moment widely believed to be corrupted beyond repair... *shrugs*

The only ships destroyed were Venial and one frigate in the mad scramble for the cargo container. Perhaps Venial was suicidal... With so many ships in space someone is going to lock and fire starting a chain reaction as riot mentality sinks in, I don't care what region of space you are in or what mob or alliance is involved, such is life and humanoid behaviour. If there is to be Jovian retaliation for this, oh well. Let the games begin!

As for venial, lord panther is spot on. The jovian appeared in the system "roleplaying" and we "roleplayed", who trusts everything a jovian says? how were we to know he was going to help us.
Veniels destruction was legitimate according to amarr/jovian relations.

I can't comment on Veniel. He seems to have survived the encounter and is assisting those in Stain to pick up the scent of the renegade Jovians.
I can tell you that in the Sani engagement, with tact-shields up and my shield booster operational ... the renegade Jovian took my Maller down to 1/10 hull in seconds. If it were not for my quick thinking, coupled with a lucky miss, I would have been floating in space in my pod.
My Academy instructors stated the need to warp through engagements when being hulled. I remembered that advise. They also mentioned the need for passive targetting when you are part of the point-vanguard that has first contact. I did not remember the second rule . In other words ... next time i target first, I'll use a passive targeting module. ~Thaiden

This is my first post, but i just couldn't sit back and let this guy say all this crap... i've seen how stain alliance acts and it's nothing like how you describe... if you enter their system without any hostile intentions and ask to be allowed to pass, they will not fire upon you or so much as bug you unless u do something stupid like lock on one of their ships.
