Unless you have had a serious run in with SA, we will let you move freely here while the event is on.
We could have sealed Stain as I see some people thought we would.Instead we will welcome you, and give you the opportunity make your fortune with whatever my fall from the Jovian scum.
SA decided that it was only fair to open it to as many people as possable. We realise that we have drastically reduced our chance of getting items, and that we may very well lose ships if some people won't leave peacefully when the event is over. We are still happy that we have done this for the good of the game, and the enjoyment of many players.

To all entering Stain for the Jovian Event:
This Jovian Event is for the whole of Eve.
In light of that fact, Rust has made an invitation to the whole of Eve so that there will be no secrets or shady dealings.
This is for everyone.
However, as many of you know, SA have strict policies on who and who cannot enter Stain. ...
I hope you all have great fun and we all get something out of it.
Let's see if we can get something worthwhile through effort and teamwork (unlike you know who).
Joshua Calvert Caldari Everlasting Vendetta
I come to Stain to participate in the event as invited. I warped to the sun upon entering 4GQ-XQ to do a range scan, and was promptly attacked by Vengence of Everlasting Vendetta, a member of the SA.
2003.08.11 03:46:53 ----- Vengence [EVER] hits you, doing 66.0 damage.
I managed to warped away, and try to contact Vengence, but he would not even accept my communication.
2003.08.11 03:47:53 ----- Vengence has rejected the invitation.
I have no standing (negative or positive) with any factions or corps including SA. This attack is in contrary to the loftly statements of SA representatives here. I've also heard reports of other pilots being fired on by SA members without provocation.
So let me ask the Stain Alliance û Is this how you treated invited guests? Does your words mean nothing?
A response would be appreciated.

Either:
A) They lied, and will open fire on anyone they choose.
or
B) They can't keep control of their members and/or can't inform them properly when exceptions are to be made.
Neither looks good for SA _____________________________________ Perpetually driven, your end is our beginning. "Can I be a consultant for EVE II?" - WhiteDwarf |

When I first saw the invitation, I knew this kind of stuff would happen...even they don't fire on you when you in, what do you when you out with a jove loot? I highly doubt SA will let you take it. So the whole invitation is a fake.

I would like to reserved judgement until I heard from those in charge of SA.
In the mean time, I urge all pilots who have been fired upon by SA pilots without provocation to make themselves known here.

Stain Alliance is a poorly structured "alliance". I use that word in the loosest sense possible.
As long as you stay aware of your surroundings, its not hard at all to exist in stain. Sure, the spectre of imminent death is always there, but alert pilots will never fall prey.
Their members don't seem to have any common code of conduct, so never trust them at all.

person grabbing the jove loot better have equipped 2 MWDs and pray they hit the can 3-5 times to knock you out of targeting range,,...
i can hearly speculate, but gee, STAIN allowing these, or any potentially good modules out of the system from cans seems slim to none for me. i did not take part.
Team work is essential... It gives the other team something ELSE to shoot at!

I went there and no one fired on me. I admit that I did expect to be fired on so I went in an Incursus. I was hanging around groups of well over 40 ships at once and no one ever gave me a weird look.

Contact the CEO of Everlasting Vendetta, all members of the Alliance have been given standing orders to not engage anyone out of the alliance without authorization from the CEO or whomever is of the highest rank that is online. That goes for people illegally mining, we need to get authorization before we do anything to them.
I hope you took screen shots, if you dont have proof (and I'm sure you do, this is a note to everyone else), your word means nothing.
This invitation into the region is not fake, it is very genuine. However, accidents are bound to happen and we apologize for them.
Again, contact the CEO of the corporation you are having problems with and things should be resolved.
*Note this is not the official word from my corp or my alliance, just my opinion and observation.

Edited by: Kimi on 11/08/2003 06:22:37 Even if you dont get podded by Moo or SA on the way to the event, what do you REALLY think your chances of getting out alive are if you happen to luck out and pick up some nice loot?
Well, given the past history of SA, not much.
Even as they advertise open borders, they shoot people down as they come in. Nice job, SA.
And with reports of M0o having as many as 6 battleships blocking some gates to the Stain, you really have to wonder, wth did the devs hold this event in the Stain of ALL places?
I guess they needed to hand out more miner II BP's to a select group.

When there are several hundered members, there are a few that may miss the information.... I hope that many people are not attacked by mistake... and if there was, maybe they will be replacing lost items....
Please do not have the impression that SA has bad intentions

Kimi, m0o would camp any gate to any event, it makes no difference it is in Stain region. If the event was in Fountain you would say the same thing about the fountain alliance, if it was in Venal the same thing about the venal alliance.
If you get the loot, it isnt hard to keep it. Go to a station and log, and leave some other time. Hell, bring escorts down and try to leave some other time that way. Your argument against the alliance has no grounding.

Sorry this doesn't wash there a "SEND CORPMSG" Function in the Address Book, As CSO I use it Frequently to get important info/orders to members for thier next Log in. and in case of an event such as this it's damn irresponsible NOT to make sure that the OOD (orders of the day)passed on to each and every member... Here is the situation: For one Vengence was following orders so he is not the one to get mad at. The simple fact is, however, that if we see a bunch of frigates following us for the soul purpose of trying to grab loot we took action. Some people may have been just watching, but if your in a frigate or shuttle then we scared you off. We determined this by who was participating in the roleplaying and who was taking what action. If you feel you have been wrongly taken action upon contact me and I will work something out with you.

I can confirm that Shintai was indeed sitting at one of the gates in PM-346 (or whatever its called) along with a friend of his. There were lots of pretty drones and I managed to make it to the gate with just over half my shields left

Edited by: Aeryn Sarum on 11/08/2003 08:39:32 Crimsonjade:
I have heard that you are a man of honor, so I am surprise by your response.
When SA posted their invitation, they did not say:
ôWe will let you move freely here while the event is on [unless you are in a frigate or a shuttle]ö
But rather:
ôSA decided that it was only fair to open it to as many people as possible[sic] .ö
Further:
1.As stated in my original post, I warped to the sun to do a range scan, this is a common operating procedure for many pilots. I certainly did not ôfollowö anyone anywhere. And at the time the Jovian, while speaking on the local channel, his whereabout still hidden and his ship intact, so I am hardly about to do any looting when the attack occurred.
2.Our group are specialists that have no problem taking out cruiser with 2-3 frigates. We expect to do well against any battleship with our frigate group. Who are you to decide that frigates are not welcome in this event?
I was hoping this is a simple case of insubordination of a few SA pilots, but since you stated that Vengence acted under order. And that now it is also clear what happen to me is not an isolated incident - I am but left with a far worst conclusion, that the Stain AllianceÆs does not mean what they say in public, and not stand behind their words.
If Stain Alliance is sincere in their intention, I call for the SA to show that they are honorable by:
1.Renounce and expel those responsible for firing on non-hostile ships from their corps and from Stain region.
2.Donate the 30M ISK ill-gotten bounty to a victims compensation fund.

I'm pretty sure Venial took it the same way.
Really, that's no way to treat a visiting diplomat. Your targetting devices were clearly set to 'greed'. Not particularly impressive. Espcially seeing as he had come to you to give you location information.
Did anyone in Stain actually talk to Venial? Or did you take the m0o-route, and shoot first, ask questions later/never?
Also, while waiting around Stain last night, I heard mutterings from MASS of the implications of 'starting to shoot when the event ends'. What came of this, I don't know, as I had to get my sanity-sleep. .

Uhmm; for what's worth, has been down in Stain for few hours yesterday. Yes, in a frigate. No, wasn't shot upon. Given i can't fit even a single mining laser on my ship i hope it'll remain this way until the end of event. :s

Well, Vengence (me) shot at you because you repeatedly ignored requests made by us to stay at least 50km away from the main battle group. And since I targetted you first, and then shot at you with a single weapon, I would say the intent was to scare you, not kill you.
There were many people that backed away from the battle group and explained their presence and were granted immunity. You weren't willing to play by the rules, and if i had to guess you were just hoping to swoop in and grab any loot before the rest of us could get it.
I'm sorry if you feel wronged, but if you want, i'll replace your noob ship, velator, i think it was? :P

This is a bold face lie. I received not a single warning message in local, and no attempt to initiate direct communication. I was shot at within 30 sec after I warped in. After I was shot at, you refuse to accept my communication to seek an explantion, and did not reply to my eve-mail.
And no, I am in a Punisher, not a noob ship.
Perhaps you fired at too many innocent pilots and lost track.
