I have a can dumped in a random belt of a 0.4. I am over 30 jumps away and have no plans to ever go back to use it. If at least a remote option for me to destroy it it would make sence. --- Order Now!

The idea of belt cleaning is not new, but is good one to bring up every once and then.
Simple solution, make the cans that are unused for more than a week expireable. Just like the jet cans. |

For a second i thought "yep, let's clean the belts. everyone needs to get into a t1 frig and then we go on a mining barge killing spree in empire".

Personally I think all secure cans that empty and not opened for over a month should unanchor / blow up. If a can has something in it then there should be an evemail after 2 months that the item will be lost within a month and then the can unanchor / blow up after a total of 3 months of no use.
This would remove most of the secure cans in game that are just dumped.

it's fun to blow them up :) we spent the last day of our corp/alliance-war blowing up any and all secure cans we could find
solo took me about 45m - 1hr in a 6 medium blasters domi loaded with magstabs(I need to get lrg guns)
in a frig, I would expect about 6 billion concordokens

Should just warn us a month ahead of time that they are going to do it, then nuke EVERY can in space on that day at downtime, including all sizes of secure and standard containers.
The amount of cans in belts not just empire but also 0.0 owned by characters or corps that don't exist anymore is twisted.

Edited by: Samuel Baxter on 23/11/2005 19:12:19 Agreed. There's one can in particular in Eletta that's getting on my nerves; it's a recruitment can for some "Wayno Corporation."
And I remember recently that I passed an asteroid belt littered with cans: easily over 50 cans in this one belt. (No wonder that every leftover asteroid was veldspar.)
I mean, c'mon: clean out these cans. There must be thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of abandoned cans cluttering up space. _________________________

How about this.
Every level of anchoring = 1 week of anchoring on object.
So with 4 which is doable you can get a month.
If once a month you don't visit that can then for christ sakes let it be taken.
done.
