So what percings do you guys & girls have?
I got my eyebrow done just yesterday. People keep telling me how hot it looks too so im dead happy. Got a bar. My first time too, i'm surprised how pleasent the experience was, barley hurt a bit.

Nothing ATM... Used to have one ear pierced and also my tongue. That was a fun piercing, could really feel the needle being pushed through the flesh...
I make sigs, fo' sh!zzle. Check it! |

You know the way putting a hole in yourself hurts? Yeah, there's a reason for that. Pain is a survival mechanism, it lets you know when something you're doing is harming you so you can stop. I think my skin is fine as it is without me poking holes in it and shoving bits of metal in there.

I got 3 earings and 1 nose ring and getting my tongue done next week (although i'm beginning to think i'm too old for piecings).
Eyebrows leave a scar and aren't permanent (i.e. you face naturally pushes it outward)
What better place than here, what better time than now? |

That's cool, but I was really just asking about what piercings people have to those that have them.

I've had my eyebrow pierced for about 3 years and it's still in place. If they do in fact grow out like Madisons and Tiaras, I've yet to see any evidence of it. Granted, it's only a 14 gauge 3/8 hoop, so weight isn't really a factor. The scaring, however, is definately true.
I also have 3 in my left ear and occasionally one in my right. I wanted to get a Prince Albert, but my wife said she didn't want to wait the 6 weeks until it healed.

An employer cannot refuse your dress code unless its a work hazard. IE: Food industry, bleeding earlobe, etc. If they argue it, remind them of your rights and they will tend not to make a fuss after that.

Yeah, well, what employers are ALLOWED to do, and what they DO are two seperate things. And guess which one can hire the better lawyers?

Edited by: Vicarrah on 27/11/2005 11:18:42 I've had my nipple pierced for about 10 years now... did it to prove I could, now its just part of me
btw, about eyebrow piercings growing out, it all depends on whether or not the piercing is behind the eyebrow muscle, if it is, it aint ever growing out, if its only a shallow skin piercing, then it'll grow out eventually.

People who keep insisting on their "rights" being uphelp find themselves passed over for promotion quite a lot in the real world.
Those who accept that somethings arent "wrong" but frowned upon in certain work environments tend to get ahead because they dont cause unnecessary fricton.
I dont have any piercings cos, quite frankly I'm a wuss.

If said person can prove that they are being passed over for promotions or raises because of exercising their rights, it could make for quite the lucrative civil settlement. Aside from this, only job I've ever heard of that asks you to remove "obscene" body jewelry has been customer service related, and even than, there is this one woman at the university who has to have 20 pounds of metal in her face, and still works the counter at a concession.

Not spent much time in the "real" world have you?
The other person was better at "..." hence you were passed over. You know why you were passed over. Your boss knows. Cant prove it though can you?
