hahaha..they think this "disclaimer" legally protects them from CCP employees buying and tracking them down? This is just a re-written version of the Internet Privacy and Protection Act signed by Bill Clinton in 1995. There is no such act, and just because you write a good sounding "disclaimer" doesn't protect you, it's only a flag to show that you are doing something illegal and are trying to cover your tracks.
Actually, it isn't illegal its against the Eve *EULA* and if CCP were to bid it would be against the Ebay *EULA* (and yes, this HAS been upheld - you are entirely within your rights to prevent people of any given catagory from bidding as long as it's not racist!). Congrats, you just got Ebay to sue CCP, because they do NOT allow stings of this sort.
Oh, and the advert was a scam. Duh. If it's too good to be true, IT IS.
PS, that's under American law and the EU for example has very different laws on the subject.

Not sure if my 2nd question has much relevance, but surely macro-miners aren't the only ones who have ever thought of selling ISK for money?
Few veterans would do that, because they have too much to lose. They have invested time and emotional energy into the game. There is no question of a bit of cash on the side. Farming games for cash is done by people with no stake to begin with.
Rubbish. Do you know the main source of IGE's cash in games? All games?
Guild/Corp leaders. Of major guilds/corps.

1) CCP is in Iceland. 2) EULAs are not upheld in court.
eBay could sue CCP just as well as CCP could eBay.
The Eve servers are in the UK. And many EULA provisions *are* legally enforceable.
You *are* legally allowed (in both America and the UK) to resist the bidders on your Ebay auctions, and Ebay HAVE taken action against "stings" and persistant unwanted bidders.

...If they said "no CCP employees" in the auction, and it was proven that a CCP employee did, then it would be against the Ebay EULA. Which they enforce agressively.
The method they provide for removing items which violate other company's EULA's is a IP rights system which for whatever reason CCP are not using.
Lobby CCP to use it if you feel the need.

Shrug, Blacksnow Interactive used Mexicans.
Only verified use of sweatshop labour by a MMO farming company. IGE prefer to buy off important guild/corp leaders.
