I've been combat scanning after the Odyssey update and I've noticed that I will often get a 100% lock on a ship and instead of the arrows on the far right of the window, I get just the 100%. WIth that, I am unable to warp directly to the target. I can save the spot as a BM and then warp to it, but that defeats the purpose of trying to warp to a moving target. My combat scan chars are very well skilled, and I've had this happen in a max probing skilled helios with Sisters Combat probes and sisters launcher, as well as prospector implants and gravity rigs. I've had this happen with targeting cruisers like Ruptures, which should be very easy to get a lock, and I've had it happen against smaller ships like Jaguar, Wolf, Taranis.
Has anyone else experienced this problem? It would seem to me that if I get 100% lock I should be able to use the scan dialog window to warp at range to the target. If I had 99.9%, I can understand that I could not warp to the target, but at 100%, it should give the arrows, not 100%. Its either a lock, or its not.

no - you don't get that option. It is not possible to warp to the target unless you save the target location as a BM and then warp to it.

Well that's a bit sh*t then isnt it? Chalk up another great feature to CCP's new scanning system...

I haven't done any serious experimentation to confirm this, but I think sig strength rounds up to the nearest tenth since odyssey. A few times I've had results show 100% with no warp button; moving the probes slightly closer gives you a warpin. |

My problem with this is my ability to SAVE the 100% signal lock as a BM and then warp to it. This seems inconsistent to me. It should either be 100% lock and be able to warp to it, or 99.9% and no lock and no ability to save the BM for use.
I'm not sure of this is an exploit, a glitch, or an intended mechanic. |

I'm not sure on this but i think it might be that the ship you just probed has just left that spot - at least i remember not being able to save the result in that case. |

maybe it has to do with that new module, the "induced ECCM reverse scanner pulse". It takes up a high-slot but keeps off grid boosters 100% safe.
j/k

The moa was only 301km away as you scanned him down. Is it possible that the moa:
a: moved closer as 150km towards you before you right-clicked the entry? b: docked up? c: left system? d: sits inside a ff?
Yeah, stupid questions... but you never know. My true stories |

the scan result is for a fixed point in space, so the presence or absence of the ship scanned does not matter. He could have jumped, cloaked, warped off or DC'd, but the resulting scan hit should still be warpable, regardless. |

Hmmm, sorry, I thought I had responded to this one yesterday Chance.
IGÇÖve had past similar situations where, having not taken a bookmark, the scanned-ship subsequently became unwarp-to-able. IIRC there had been some sort of change event between the actual scanning and the attempt at warping. Sorry, but itGÇÖs a longtime now since this has happened to me, so I donGÇÖt recall the details at all well.
Possibly: -The location is still showing at 100% in your system scanner window because you have scanned it to 100% and it is still within range of a probe or some probes GǪ but your probes are not presently located where they would see it at 100%. This can happen when you move your probes on to scan another spot without bookmarking the first. -Also, IIRC, the ship still being there can make a difference if youGÇÖre not yet operating from a bookmark. I have had similar when dealing with ships. Certainly once theyGÇÖre bookmarked you are dealing with a co-ordinate, but I am not entirely certain that is the case when itGÇÖs still in your system-scanner window.
Some (vague) food for thought.
I guess I am almost a 'vet' by now. Hopefully not too bitter and managing to help more than I hinder. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |

take it off spread formation and use pinpoint formation on probes, you can get a 100% on spread and not have a warp 2 |

Umm - yeah - not a scanning noob.
It's some sort of glitch. After the last patch, now you get 100% result and cannot warp to it OR save it as a BM. basically like getting a 99.9% hit.
Its still broken. It should not say 100% if its not a pure lock. |

I've been pestered with the same bug too, even if I probe out anoms. I get 100% reading, no option to warp to, or option to save location. I've been plagued with this problem since the release of the last patch. 2mill SP in probing, now its useless to me atm. 100% is 100%, not 99.99%, I hope CCP fixes this annoyance soon |

It happens, but rarely. had it happening when scanning sites in WH. Sites shows 100% but no arrow to warp-to AND no option to warp-to with right-click too. |
