Edited by: Rod Blaine on 11/08/2003 22:39:09 Im looking for a list of all ores, describing what security rating the systems that hold these types have. So it would be something like:
Veldspar =< 1.0 ... Kernite =< 0.6 (for example) ... Bistot =< 0.0
Any additional info would of course be appreciated as well
If anyone could and would supply me with such a list, or link thereto, it would assist me greatly.

Can't help with your query, but it's always nice to meet someone who appreciates the work of Niven and Pournelle and who is a fan of my favourite sci fi novel

Edited by: Rod Blaine on 11/08/2003 22:57:56 I sure am, and I do think Rod Blaine is a good character to roleplay somewhat in EVE.
(this being OOC of course)
edit:
I do hope you know the other novels as well btw even tho they are not that good, they are still very enjoyable. _______________________________________________

Well I dont have everything off the top of my head, but I will give you what I have:
Veldspar = Anywhere Scordite = Anywhere Pyroxeres = Anywhere Plagioclase = Anywhere Omber = .8 or lower Kernite = .6 or lower (I think) Jaspet = .4 or lower (I think) Hemorphite/Hedbergite = .3 or lower Gneiss = .3 or lower in theory ** Dark Ochre/Spodumain/Crokite/Bistot = 0.0 ** Arkanor = who knows since you cant seem to find it anymore in game.
** Gneiss used to be found in .3 or lower systems, but when the DEVs moved all ore containing Zyd or Mega out to non empire space only, this effectively made it so that Gneiss is only available in 0.0 as I dont know of any non empire space thats higher than 0.0

Not to be picky but that would mean even a -0.1 space and there is no such thing. You need "Bistot = 0.0"

We need more of a "perhaps". Not all 0.0 systems have bis.

Bistot can be found in any 0.0 system that is at least 10 jumps from the nearest station. Also in Bistot belts you will always frind groups of pirate cruisers with no frigates around.
The Arkanor...more jumps then ten and other special requirements but that info costs money.

Maybe i'll do some research on this and call it the "Zezman Guide to Mineral Location in Relation to Security Level Systems" or simply put. Zezmine Catalogue

Thanks all for the replies.
And as for the books:

Actually there is the occasional 0.0 system which has Bistot and a station, though these are incredibly rare and what bistot is there is is composed of asteroids yielding 3-15 bistot as they get mined out very quickly.

Indeed they did, together with the sequel, the Moat Around Murcheson's Eye. As Rod says, they also wrote Footfall. Their other major collaboration was Lucifer's Hammer - the "inspiration" for Deep Impact and Armageddon.
With Steven Barnes, they also wrote the three Heorot books.
Rod, I came very close to choosing your name myself!

Hem/Hed can be found in 0.2 and lower.
Everything above has been moved to non-Empire space.
