Hi,
I've just moved to a new computer with a more powerful graphics card but it seems that with more power comes less features!
I used to run in windowed mode at 1280x960 which fits the client nicely into the space on my desktop.
However now I only have 1024x768 and 1280x1024.
I'm now running a 7800GTX to a 1280x1024 LCD.
I've run a few searches and found people with a similar problem but the solution suggested elsewhere of switching into full-screen mode first doesn't work for me (I get the same resolution selection in full-screen mode too).
Anybody able to help?

You can use any resolution you want for your window mode. You just need to get that resolution to windows desktop settings first.
I used PowerStrip (use Google to find that) for that. Add custom resolution to your settings and after that it should also be found from Eve settings. After this you can uninstall PowerStrip. I have 1600x1200 desktop and 1480x1110 Eve window.

OK, found a solution (there may be others).
I'm running the latest version of the NVIDIA ForceWare drivers (81.95) and it seems 1280x960 is not considered a supported configuration. I don't know whether this a driver artifact or the 7800GTX simply isn't supported at 1280x960.
Anyway, even though the overall resolution of the desktop was still 1280x1024 which is supported, the game wasn't able to offer 1280x960 as a valid window resolution because it only shows those reported as supported by the driver.
The way I've worked around this was to add a custom "timing" in the driver configuration. However, this makes you accept a disclaimer stating that you understand making such a configuration change may not work and may even damage your kit 
If you intend to try the same, please read that warning and use caution - it may not work for you!

1280 by 960 is supported on the 6800 ultra, one generation before the 7800. Make sure you have Advanced Settings enabled in your eveclient.ini file (check the stickies in this forum, I could be wrong here) and that may allow you to adjust the resolution settings freely.
If the driver is at fault, you can check this easy enough. Right click the desktop, left click Properties, and then left click Settings. Click the Advanced button, followed by the Adapter tab (this may change depending on the card / driver). Click the "List all modes" button. If the only modes you have available are the ones you listed, the driver is limiting you. You "should" be presented with a plethora of options between 640 by 480 at 60 hz all the way up to 1600 by 1200 at minimum 100 hz. Assuming you see this list, the game is limiting you.
Assuming you have already enabled Advanced Settings, go with the Powerstrip solution as suggested here. Good luck.
