yar my pc isnt of the greatest power in the world and personnaly turning off game affects and turret affects helped me play decent being able 2 do large scale fights and now when they're finally kicking out the drone lag problem they're also removing game affects and gunnery affects options so now all of us lower ppl with out super computers gonna get lag all over again?!
can GMs or Devs or whoever please reinstal the on/off turret/game affects option back into game or else playing this game will just turn out 2 being the laggish expirence it was for many of us when we first started

It wouldn't be much use if we rewrote the effects system to make it faster and it didn't get tested because everyone turned it off anyway.
At the very least, we want to see how some larger battles go on Sisi before we make a descision about putting that back in or not.

I understand your need to test the new code on SiSi, but i ask that you VERY seriously think about whether you will be able to accurately reproduce a 100 v 100 or whatever lag fest on SiSi, before removing the turn off facility on TQ. ....

whats wrong with leaving the "turn off" option. I mean yeah you need to test it on sisi, but what reason would you have for not including this command in the next patch?
also while i'm at it. I've been logging in to sisi to help test as the devs are always asking. Honsetly i just see peeps getting their pvp jollies off with the fight clubs free ships. I'm wondering why things like pos, which anyone who uses one knows are extremely buggy, are not being tested. Year old bugs like silo bonus's not working, and with this factory rework you'd think you'd be wanting some really thurough testing of the new pos shipyards etc.
Oh well doesn't include the use of a gun shooting something and CCP doesn't care.

well i can see the point of testing but please do not remove affects from TQ it will really bash the game for many of us and if some ppl have the ability 2 play with affects those who cant should have the ability 2 play with out it....

... but, shouldn't the behaviour of the client with the effects turned *off* be able to be tested, also? Especially when --i'd hope-- disabling the effects rendering in the client actually notifies the server to skip bombarding it with data that's (at given moment) not needed* ^^;;
*) e.g. if there's three ships present, ship A has effect render turned off, and ship B shoots ship C while A doesn't have C locked... there's no need whatsoever to send "B shoots C for X" to A o.O;

well TBH me being the student that i am in the country that i am upgrading the pc would be expensive and being what i can afford right now.... so why do it if the game doesnt need it?

Ah, well. Cannot test anything as with 'effects' turned on I crash and I crash...on both clients. Oh, and I know I'm not the only one. 
So in war, the way is to avoid what is strong and to strike at what is weak. |

There was a bug that caused a lockup in the first release of the new effects system, but it's much less frequent now. If it is still happening in the most current versions, then I need bug reports with logs where possible and a description of the circumstances under which it happens if you can reproduce it.
It's precisely these sorts of reasons that I don't want to make it available on the test server. People will just complain to their friends that they crash, turn them off and ignore it and the bug will remain unfixed. There's also the generally held belief that the effects and turrets system *should* be laggy unless turned off, and I want observations about how heavy the new one is, not how you believe the old one performed.

well i've been playing on test server since patch came out more or less and FFA is lag fiesta even when i zoom all the way out and bring down graps 2 16 colors im like "Ewwwww lag" and ppl pop before they could even see thamselves drop out of warp :| and i warped in on a pos only 2 see myself in a pod next 2 it about 30seconds after "with out knowing" how and i've seen quite alot on test server have the same affects
and i dont crash like ever \o/
