I've thought about it, but in the end I don't think it will matter. People can only complain if I win, which is not likely to happen. My luck dictates that I am better off running the casino and playing in it.

The casino activity has picked up significantly in the past week. Partly due to a policy shift. I now invite all patrons to transfer ISK to Erfnam with an evemail chaser to purchase credits. I had previously not advertised this, since I wanted to leave people with the instant gratification of talking with an agent, sending ISK, and having the credits a moment later. I'm partial to a bit of gambling and am interested in buying credits but first I'd be grateful if you could answer some questions about your blackjack game:
1) How many decks do you use? 2) How often do shuffles occur? 3) What does the dealer stick on and is this hard or soft? 4) Whats the minimum and maximum bets? 5) Do you support double-downs, splits, and surrenders and if so on which cards?
Many thanks

Blimey thats pretty harsh. Even the most knowledgeable player with perfectly optimal strategey will never see a win chance higher than ~49% with those rules. If you want to attract the big players I'd recommend more closely following Vegas and the big online casino rule sets. Bring the decks down to at least 3 or less and spread out the shuffles a whole lot more and I might be interested

There are many players who are happy with the current set up and a few of which have walked away with the casino's ISK. The only thing that is a little harsh about it is that card counting is not possible. Card counting aside, there is little difference between 3 decks and 6 decks. If you can find a casino that is only using 3 decks, let me know because I would love for them to pay for my trip!
If these changes are required for you to play at my casino, then I wish you well in your travels. Perhaps in the future you will stop by for a few pulls of the slots or for a hands of texas hold'em, coming soon (tm).

Dont get me wrong ... I'll still probably chuck some moola at it anyway just for a distraction. There's something strangely relaxing about blackjack and it'll help pass those long journeys and I'm sure you have many satisfied customers who see the money lost as more of a service fee than anything. I'm just a little disappointed you've gone with a rule set that means no matter how well someone plays they'll always loose in the long term is all. Understandable though, you dont want sharks eating up all your profit. After all I was only enquiring as I was hopeing to be able to suck some money out you . Even though the real-life casinos have more entising rule-sets in which the odds can swing in the players favour, they're quick to spot anyone who knows how to take advantage of this and quickly put the heat on them. Since you dont have this advantage I suppose its perfectly reasonable to use a much stricter rule-set.
Best of luck

I was wondering If you had an idea when texas hold'em would be available. Also I was wondering if it would be me vs computer or me vs a table of real people. Further more, i was wondering if the pots at the texas hold'em table would have the chance to exceed 5 million ISK in credits. 1,000 and 5,000 isk bets isn't a gamble to me, I'd ride that to the river every time.

What a splendid idea! I will definitely be joining soon.
As for the player who posted about the Blackjack, those rules are pretty much OK apart from not being allowed to split Aces, that really tightens it up a bit. 6 Decks is a lot less than youll find in most online casinos and probably a few less than in Vegas. Why not code a high stakes, single-deck version when the casinos gotten a bit more entrenched?
If you can get video poker in there then I will worship at the base of your huge pile of well earned ISK....

Without wanting to sound offensive it seems to me you really dont know much about blackjack. Being able to split aces or not only shifts the overall balance by a fraction of a percent and is really fairly insignificant. The real killer about those rules is the fact that shuffles occur after every hand meaning the odds before bets are placed will never tip in the players favour. Also 6 to 8 decks is average for a full table of players plus dealer in which case cards shift much faster and the odds are generaly better anyway due to low cards getting sucked up faster than high cards increasing the dealers chance to bust (people tend to hit on lows and stick on hi's after all). Since you'd be playing one on one, 6 decks is a bit harsh (although pretty irrelevant anyway in this case due to the shuffle per hand rule).

Find me an online casino that does not shuffle after every hand. I'll give you good odds you wont be able to find a reputable one, and online payouts are supposedly more generous than their bricks n' mortar counterparts. Not only do I know plenty about blackjack, I'm also a realist and understand that land based casinos would love to shuffle after every deal if it was viable. The only reason blackjack is in any casinos at all is intense player demand. A game with a low and strategically flexible edge like that has to be controlled. In land based casinos that means facial scanners linked to the MIT yearbook, and online it means nerfing the HA by shuffling every deal. In terms of games of blackjack you can actually get, this one is not at all the worst, and (almost) no matter how they twist it, its still the best odds you can get in a casino.
