As many of you have probably encountered I recently had a macro miner with multiple accounts move into my home system. The macros were so nice they'd even do a run through all the belts empting any and all containers on the belts, exactly once ever 3 hours. This lead to a situation of bad timing allowing his macro to steal ore from some members in my corporation. Once, fine its a mistake, twice ... I don't really feel like letting this get to a 3rd time.
At this point we didn't know these characters were macroing. Myself and a few corp members confronted the group, no response. We decided to interupt their operations and steal back what was taken. Still no response. Infact it took an hour for them to even realize anyone was smacking the mining vessels away from the belt with an interceptor going 5km/sec, and 2 other people were taking all the ore that was being kicked out. During most of this I had a petition running in the exploit section. As usual that nearly macroed response of, thanks we'll investigate this comes back from the GM. This happens to be the 4th time this has happened to me. The first extremely helpful recommendation came in the form of, why not use secure containers. In a 0.9 system with my sec status being 0.3, so he can steal more from us. Those investigative techniques are shining through yet again.
So what can I do about this? Pick up and move AGAIN? Or completely abandon the system until CCP finally decides to "investigate". Now if this was a pirate holding my system at ransom, no biggie, thats part of life. But a macro miner who stoops to programming his macro to steal from everyone in the system ontop of that? How long do you expect me to remain anything approaching civil when you continue to allow this sort of thing to happen?
So what did I do about it? I mounted an armageddon with large smartbombs and lit up two of his characters. Now I sit with a status of -2.5, seeing as most of my equipment is in 1.0 space, my time here is at an end. CCP was happy to point out that I hadn't investigated what would happen to my security status during this. But considering the situation at this point I hold them entirely responsible for what happened, as this was my only chance to actually do something about it, within anything approaching a reasonable amount of time. Not that they are responsible or liable for anything at all according to the EULA. I'm not about to spend the next few months grinding through missions I hate just so I can move around empire.
So farewell Eve. Chalk up another point for the macroers. They are winning this War.

It only takes a few days to get back up to -1.9. Its not too hard. You shouldn't quit EVE over this.
P.S. Use an alt to transport your assets.

Varrig is quite an old player and hes been true to EVE since 2003. Macrominers are killing his business and love for the game along with the GMs incompetence and lack of caring about the issue. And I don't blame him one bit for nuking the macroers after being on TS for 3 - 4 hours while it unfolded.
I personally don't think he should quit, but NPC corp untouchable macroing is BS and the reaction by the GM at the time was totally apathetic and lame.

I understand your concerns, but it is a bit early to complain. Mineral prices have not collapsed completely yet, they are simply down to levels seen at the start of the year, after following a parabola. Wait until early spring before forming a judgement.

CCP needs to be tougher on macro miners and farmers. It should be against the rules to have 15 accounts and mine in a belt 23/7, regardless of using a macro or not. The only way the problem will be solved is if CCP bans first and asks questions later.
Oh, and 3-day temporary bans do nothing.

Like it or not, casual/newbie players like this poster is the heart of the game. They are the possible future and they are the entire basis of the market/manufacturing.
They are being bashed hard of such things and us forum *****s go calling the whaaambulance on every occasion 
It's not like the man complained about an ore thief...

If you are an Ore-Thief reading this, how would you like to know of an infinite resource for your chosen career?
STEAL FROM MACROERS AND NOT HARDWORKERS LIKE ME. not that ive ever had ore stolen, i just know how annoying it must be to lose ore to thieves...

It wouldn't be the same. Same as NPCing doesn't give you the same almost kinky thrill as killing a real player. Not that I'm an orethief apologist. They're scum. But you know what I'm talking about.

Hes been playing since 2003. Hes endured this time and time again and is ****ed off and tired.
Notice at the end of his post... Varrig... hes not a forum***** so he forgets it had his alt logged on...
Go look up the character ingame.
