Hi I wonder if anyone has tips or advice about how to get the most loot possible when the exploration sites explode -- I get only like 1 or 2 before they all go away, and I don't know how to get more than a couple at most. I know you're not supposed to be able to grab all of them but I'd like to get more than a couple. Doesn't seem worth the time to scan them down if all I can grab is two.

1 or 2 sounds extremely low, so forgive me for going through the absolute basics of the system. To start off fit your ship properly. The most important things are obvious, but the cargo scanner might not be. You use it to scan the hackable container before hacking to see all the proper loot that can contains. This allows you to be a bit more selective and efficient in catching the mini-containers. It won't help much, if you can't get more cans though.
Here is a guide to what type of loot will appear in what type of mini-containers. This information added to the initial cargo scan will allow you to get most of the worthwhile loot on a regular basis and make sure you're unlikely to miss the good loot drops. The types are easy to memorize, but that guide will help while you're learning.
As for the loot spew, I'll go through the basics quickly. It's color coded. White=too far, green=in range and ready to tractor and yellow=in range, but tractor not ready. You only need to click once on a green can to start tractoring/looting it. During that time you can't loot/tractor other cans, so use this time to position(double click on a can to approach) and scout(hover cursor over them) out the remaining cans. When the cans turn green again you should immediately click the next can to start the looting process. If you cargo scanned the hacking container and scouted the mini-containers, there should be no delay between the cans turning green and you clicking on the next mini-container. Also prioritize blinking containers above others, since they will disappear first.
I hope that helps at least a little. |

Should I be at like zero distance to the container to catch more, or should I be farther out? and should I try to chase after the group? |
