My intention is to live there and do missions for the pirate faction / rat / explore (whatever I'm in the mood for).
People keep telling me that I won't survive there and that I'll get killed all the time unless I find myself a corp there to join. How would I find myself a corp there?
SP-wise I'm training towards frigates mainly. My intentions are not to fly BC's. Cruisers will be the biggest ship I intend to fly shortly. Eventually I'll ship up, but atm a larger ship just means a larger loss...
I have a jump clone in highsec where I have acces to some ships and L3's to cash up incase I go bankrupt.
What do you suggest I do?
(As far as PvP goes I'm not that good at it, but I've had some experience at least)
They said this was a sandbox and you can do anything you want so! |

Covops ship with an MWD and you'll be fine.
I took several trips through NPC pirate space when odyssey hit just to check out the new data and relic sites and no one really bothered me. Just use the map to dodge gatecamps or do your best to slip past them, and find a public station in the area that you can use as a "base" for when you do die.

Go for it, if you keep it to reasonably cheap ships then you should have a ball trying to evade and outwit others without breaking the bank. Even when you explode hilariously, talk to your opponents, most will probably chat to you regards tactics and fits, make some friends, make some enemies, some of them will try and recruit you into their corps because of your attitude.

A few things to note:
Living in NPC nullsec requires knowledge:
Learn how bubbles work.
Learn how to make bookmarks, and make bookmarks 250+km's off every gate you plan to travel through.
Take some time and research the area: Who the locals are? Will they hunt you? How will they hunt you?
Logistics of going from highsec to nullsec is often dangerous, depending on where you are living. You can use Black Frog to ship your stuff to an NPC station (usually by Jump Freighters), or you can risk it yourself (I'd recommend a blockade runner). Good luck.

Alright, so I went there and I did some scouting. I bookmarked some safe spots for starters and made my way through.
After that I docked up in a station and decided I'd try some L1's in the merlin I brought with me.
Did about 3 missions (the blockade was amongst those, god I hate that mission on every level  )
The loot here was suprisingly good for L1's.
The tags I collected were easy to sell because of NPC buy orders and the reward for L1's also seemed somewhat higher then in highsec. (confirmation on this?)
Had some trouble undocking sometimes but I got away every time. I fitted one warp core stabiliser so a single disruptor won't neck me. Plus I can avoid 1v1's with kiters more easily.
I've been able to avoid bubbles for now.. I saw some lingering around but none of em were on my direct route.
I can't do my own logistics though. Blockade runners is something I want really badly but it's something I'm going to delay untill later in my career.
So I guess I need friends out there. Hopefully I will make some in the coming weeks!

The corp I am currently in exists to train players to live in nullsec - so yes, there are friends out there waiting to be made. :) Earlier today, I navigated my way through a number of NPC null systems, making bookmarks and gate tacticals according to their training. I still have a few more systems to do. It is time-consuming but I find problem-solving like this (avoiding gate camps and the like in a stripped-down travel-fit frigate) to be lots of fun.

Risk and reward, you're taking more risk than a normal mission runner, you get paid accordingly. It should scale as you progress on to higher level missions, you'll also find that PI is better in nullsec.

Consider learning PvP in lowsec first. No bubbles means you can always get your pod away so it is cheaper if you want to fight with implants.
Faction Warfare or (FW regions if you want to pirate).
