Well not me personally, but lots of people are.
So the other day I was thinking, if I was the one just starting out, what would I think was cool about the game? And what would I like to do? Long story short, I decided that I would spend some of my isk trying to set up fun events for newer players.
The first thing I want to try is going to a school system, handing out ships/guns and take a group of new players out to hunt something too big for them to hunt by themselves. Now, I don't intend to take anyone out of empire space, more like ganging up on some cruiser rats or somesuch.
The reason for this post, is to hear everyones suggestions for targets (belt/mission/plex rats, what?), ships/setups that are day-old character friendly and so on. First time round this is going down in Caldari space, as I already have quite a few Caldari frigates sitting around that I don't mind giving to those with less isk than myself.
Oh, and if you have any tips for coordinating a 10-15 strong gang of inexperienced players do tell
My initial thoughts: 1. Hand out packages of consisting of a condor, 2 125mm rails, sb, ab and ammo. 2 .Form a gang and travel to a nearby plex (3/4/5 of 10?). 3. Split up into groups of around 5 and have people go at the cruisers while I tank/take out anything thats going to pose a threat. 4. Let the rookies keep any loot they find (can't think of any system of splitting it up fairly that can't be exploited).
Thoughts/input appreciated from experienced and inexperienced players alike

Dont need a complex, you need a level 3-4 agent.
Take em with you into your deadpsace missions, pay for their frigs and ****, let em keep the standard loot, and you have free slav...i mean, a free workforce. _______________________________________________

Well, erm... I guess that's an option Not really what I had in mind though. For a Gallente you seem awfully cynical
Oh, and what would be cooler for new players - hunting alongsinde t2 frigs or battleships?
PS: Anyone notice how when you're replying to a thread the wordfilter doesn't work?

Could be fun. I know that as a new player (less than a week) I haven't done anything except beat up on some NPC rats and do some agent missions. I've mostly been exploring and working on my learning skills, then trying to work up to something a little more beefy than an Imicus for actually mining with. :D

i went into a complex 3/10 with a kestrel with some people, they had cruisers so i rarely killed anything as they had better range. but it was fun once i figured out once they start shooting to just fly at the enemy like a bat outa hell and get into their ranks and "Unleash hot fury".

Try this next time. Grab a griffin, stick target painter and some EW mods in the mids, orbit around your friend at 5k and paint/jam anything you can.
Did that with a buddy once, he had a BC and we were rocking BS spawns was alot of fun.

Well that was basically the idea. I figured I'd find a nice 4/10 and go in with a group of new players, the condors and 125's should ensure that everyone would be able to participate. I thought I would just go in an af and tank, but I guess I could take a bc or bs for some eyecandy.
Anyways, the point was to set up a scenario where the new players didn't have to worry about loosing their only frigate and were able to engage some bigger rats than those they would usually hunt. And showing how fun teamwork can be.
Bringing some kessies and rocketlaunchers might be fun for those that want to get into missiles tho, so I'll look into that.

I think it's a great idea. I wouldn't mind helping out and donating some Kestrels if you need them. I have a few hanging around that I haven't sold yet. Standard launchers should be just fine.
Where were you thinking of doing this? I'm in the Lonetrek region but was planning on heading out to Gallente space shortly within the next few weeks.

My first thought was Kisogo, since it's the State War Acad I figured I'd be more likely to find combat interested pilots. The plans have been put on hold for a little while until things cool down were I work, as I simply don't have the time to play alot right now.
It's a great offer though, and I hope you don't mind if I look you up ingame once I get some more time to play

No problem. Mail me in-game when you want to do it. I don't get to play that often so there's no hurry. Wouldn't mind getting my fighting skills up a bit either as I've mostly mined and gotten into manufacturing.
I have decent skills in missles and guns but not great. LVL 2 - 3 and I'm in a Caldari Cruiser with med launchers.
Even if I'm not on when you plan on getting this started, the offer of the Kestrels is still open. Just mail me. How many you want? Five?
