Will this be the must have card for you big movie makers?
How long does it take to compress a full movie now anyway?
(thought this wud be ok in here rather then OOP since its directly to do with making eve vids)

Video card is completely unrelated to movie making unless you're using video out to record.
And it takes about 20 minutes per minute of video to encode a top-quality twopass WMV video with a Pentium 4 2.4Ghz. - Proud member of the [23].

Did you read the link? Its saying how using the new AVIVO technology on X1K cards from ati, can encode/compress video files about 5x faster then CPU's. Or am I reading this all wrong?

Thanks for the link, im gonna have to get me an x1800xl too. I'm using an x800xl now and im pretty happy with it (especially the quality), the framerate is quite low sometimes, but apparently with eve thats quite a lot cpu related and not really gfx card related.
Certainly looks like the must have card. -=-=-=-==-=--=-=-=--=-=--==-=--¼=-==--=-=-=--==-=--=-=-=-=-=-==-=-

dual is a waste of time in EVE, iv got dual gforce 7800s and the FPS dont change much when running 1 card.
for other games, HELL YEAH!!.
