I know CCP do their own news and everything, but as always not everything gets into the news, and seeing as people dislike alts posting or propergander how about this...
I'll form a new corp with an alt, and to it each and everyone will know that its my alts only in this corp. What I'll do is fly around confilict areas reporting the news as I see it. Independtly, and without bias.
Please don't flame this, but leave constructive comments only and how this could would, and if the major alliances would surport said corp by setting them to a positive so my alts could roam a battle field without taken the risk of being fired upon.
It would be like a reporter in RL reporting from the front line, but of corse if my alts died, then that happens at time.
Well what do you all think?

ya, i wonder what happened to Minmatarvengeance. can't seem to find him in game. he seemed to stop reporting though after 5 left. so he must have been an RA alt

Sort of like a war corrispondent. Except, everyone is gonna be shooting you, lol. You will need standings with everyone, it will just be to darn hard to get into 0.0 without getting ganked.
I like the idea, but i just dont see it being feasible, maybe if you had a covert ops and could avoid getting shot, then yes.

I highly doubt anyone could and its been tried before during the great northern war and that was as BIOS as anything.

there used to be something like this in game, but the reporters and "newsflash/reports" did get so much grief that they took it away i think

Yes, there was. But IIRC the reporter was too biased, so the articles weren't very useful.

I dont think your realize what youre getting into, its going to be like the map crap that went on. Plus the most of the alliance spin doctor/alts/characters are gonna try and derail any unfavorable information and continuly slander you as being biased.
But hey if you want to, go for it.. not much you can do to a covert if theyre trying not to be caught

nice idea, but you are far to involved in to many things to be without bias...if a SA/SE incident occured you would natuarly report in favour of SE. if anything regardind FE occured you would be seeing it from the perspective of FE..this would only work for a truly independant person who has no links to any alliance and knows no one in any alliance..no matter how good a person's intentions are inevitable you will lean towards your own side of things. (every reported reports from their own POV...yours will be coloured by your association with several entitied in game)

The problem with this is that everyone is going to suspect you of having alterior motives. Whether you do or do not, I do not care, but I would not trust an outsider corp/alliance to not be a spy. I am very sure that it would be possible for you to get everyone in eve to treat you as a reporter.
Nice idea though, I would say the only way it could possibly be done for real is if CCP do it. People should have a way of reporting player generated events / wars / battles / other newsworthy stuff so that (Polaris/CCP/Someone offical) can get a firsthand account of what is going on rather then just interviews with poeple after the fact.
This way we will get the reporters view of what is going on rather that the person/corp they are interviewing. Don't get me wrong however, interviews are good, but there is something to say about 1st hand reporting.

This idea isnt new. I remember there was an original CCP news corp(cant remeber exact name) and it reported on the original venal war and there were real life threats of lawylers and liable and all sorts of stuff from one party, who everyone probably remembers but ill not mention any names :)
EVE guardian also tried this but also ended up being accused of bias and then it was forced to be non-contravesial and became boring and irrelevant.

I think donations would be a good idea, however it would be a case of people giving ISK directly to the corp, all of which would be public information. Just as companies these days have to announce their profits of losses, so would I in the interests of fairness and transparancey.

This is true, however this is also an advantage of the society we live in. Everyone is allowed there opianons and is allowed to express them. If that is dissatisfaction at the way I report news then so be it. Weather I agree with what they have to say or if they agree with what I have to say, so long as its respectful then people can say what they want. Slander is another thing thoą

Done that and I still havn't received a reply yet. Did apply once and got passed the interview, but RL got in the way at the time and even though I have updated my application twice since then, once it was rejected and I'm still waiting for a reply from Eris, even tho I did email her as well.

True, however it is possible for some people to remain netural even with their own interests being involved. As far as the whole SE/SA thing goes, then there is no love lose between me and species now. My problems are personal with CujoĘs management of the corp, not the corp as a whole. However anything that they are involved in again would be a fair and un-biased report.
Also as far as I hole FE, I was told that once we left we where given one month of +ve standings to move all our stuff out. Then afaik all FE corps would have us either set to 0.0 or ūve. Does that look like a close friendship to you?

Nice to see you back in the game Graffix, and I have payed Svet back her isk, and I wouldnĘt sell information to the highest bidder. At the end of it all how could it?
As I would be reporting as a battle takes place so what would be there to sell to someone as all parties involved would know what has happened already?
Plus how could I pick up all the loot and shot an easy target is im with a 20k SP alt in a shuttle?

Reporter problems reside in the fact that most forum people are of the intelligence of about 12 years old. They have no social skills. They think they are winning Eve. They think they know how the game is actually being played.
You must now write to their level of mentality. Here is an Exsample:

BoB take over Fountain space.
This was due to a fine plan. The made it thru choke points. The podded a few pilots and docked at the NPC stations. They now claim the region.

Soo you see being a reporter is not all that popular and your always wrong!

As was said by the mods... wanna do news join ISD.
ISD has been doing a great job of bringing news to the community. More so than the original Scope did and much more so then when ISD first started a year or so ago.
Independent News is an oxymoron. No one is truly independent. Even if you are no one will believe you... unless you are sucking the corn out of their excrement.
So join ISD.
