What to do with Jovian Space? Furthermore, what kind of action would one encounter?
I'd like to see Jovian Space fully explorable, but only through escalation of exploration efforts in a linked chain of anomaly missions and hacking sites ( or something similar )
Full extent of the idea, a playground for exploration:
Player finds hacking site, hack the modules and finds a transcript providing some hints to the lore and background of the Jove as well as hints to an area of space that the player can explore/scan down for another "hint" hacked from the modules found there. This can chain for a bit but the end result is a high level anomaly site that, once cleared and hacked contains one last hint that leads to a star gate that would lead to Jovian space (for limited access, could be accessible for certain time frame or make it a WH to Jovian space that has Mass/M3 limitations to regulate influx of players to Jove Space). can make the star gate in null low or WH space depending on how the Devs feel the best way to implement this system.
Jovian space is fully explorable as in: like WH space, no local. all discoveries are done by scanning (directional / probes to find players) and a way to scan down all planets asteroid belts and such (belts have ABC, as its 0.0 Jove space). Moons have good to high quality Moon minerals. The only way back to known space is through the gate the player found. or exploring another route back.
Content? One could only hope that further exploration of anomalies in Jove space would finally release access to technology that is in game already but seems to serve no purpose..I.E. Sleeper, Takmahl, Talocan, and Yan Jung
this technology could be moved to Jove and then using a similar system to the sleeper manufacturing process. reverse engineering to discover new ships, mods ammo, etc. a whole lot of content could be added here.
Risk vz reward? the Jovian NPC's that protect their systems should be smarter from an AI perspective and of course have ships that exceed the capabilities of Pirate/Faction Ships.
Jove space is Jove space indefinitely, no SOV can be taken. Jove space is 0.0 but once standings are high enough, Jove will become friendly. PvP will still be relevant. Jove space should be tougher from all angles in comparison to WH space Only limited access through extensive exploration efforts. NO POS or any anchor-able structures can be allowed into the space but with the coming changes to PI, maybe one could bring in a customs office, anchor (with appropriate JOVE standings) and build a POS through PI that could then be anchored in system. Jove Faction Warfare. This can be expanded on but the one thought would be to help Jove expand their operations in their space through mining/mats contributions. Jove pay above market for mats and structures. Maybe run certain missions for NPCs that (already implemented mostly) would give you any of the mission types. once turned in, you can go to the Jove FW module or talk with the agent remotely (with appropriate skills) and see progress of any Jove related campaign or operation.
Key here is not only exploration but truly helping the Jove build stations and structures. at the release, there should only limited structures in Jove space and the players with good standings can help them build and protect their growing infrastructure.
there are a lot of ways to spin this idea, yes it may seem like a PvE sandbox, but obviously there will still be PvP, it is 0.0 NPC/Jove space. those game mechanics will not go away. |

I've been playing this game over 8 years now and would love to see the chance of getting to Jove space. I can't remember the exact lore for Jovians but I do recall something about them being at least one tech level ahead of us so that might be an issue. |

8 years? wow, hats off to you sir lol. im sitting about 5 years or so now. it just blows my mind that something can be implemented and put in place just to sit there and remain dormant until CCP figures out what to do with it. If they ask the right people, there are a ton of good things they can do to expand on the game with features that are already in-game, which should be viable with less effort in terms of company resource costs. |

oh and to the original idea. while I would love it, there would be new space, new ships to look at (they would never give them to us, and it is far too advanced for us to reverse engineer), new stations. potentially interesting pve content. and while we would not be able to completely re-engineer their tech, we might be able to get some tech from it. but they also see what we are as about as sophisticated as rats. meaning they would probably just treat us a pests to be extinguished. |

Jove are not original humans they started after the first dark age and barely survived the second dark age.
Terrans are the original humans and they are very frieghteningly powerful.
Sleepers Talocan YuYang and Takmal are the original surivivors from the collasp.
back to the topic
Jove are sacred cows, we shouldnt have them in any means interating with players. They have become... special story telling peices.
Also There isnt much of jove space anyways. Sansha seemed to have kicked thier postierior. |

CCP keeps the Jove around as a "plot device" for EVE. That's why you won't see them ever be introduced (at least, not until EVE begins to genuinely "die").
Also understand that Jovian tech is grossly overpowered... Imagine a battleship with 8 high-slots, 8 mid-slots, 8 low-slots, 8 turret slots, 8 launcher slots, enough CPU/PG to comfortably fit all of the largest battleship class modules in the game with room to spare, 400 cubic meters of drone space, 125 m/bits of drone bandwidth, low mass, high agility, and above average in-class speed.
