Here is what Im thinking fo doing with my Maller. Some of the items could be better, but this is using what I currently have in my stock. Suggestions are welcome.

Hi Slots: 4 x Heavy Beam Lazer with Radio then switch to multifrequency when within 20km(modulated if possible) 1 x 125mm 'scout' accelerated cannon with iridium. 1 x Small photon smartbomb.
Medium Slots: Medium Shield Booster 2 x Capacitor Recharger I (+10%)
Low Slots: 2 x Heatsink I 2 x Reactor control unit I 1 x Type-E Power control unit. (+20%cap rate -10% capacity) 1 x Capacitor flux coil I (+20%cap rate -25%shield recharge)
Skills prove very useful such as: Energy Management Energy operation Shield operation shield management Engineering Electronics

My setup: 4 Heavy Beam lasers Smartbomb
Med: Medium Shield Booster Monopropelland Hydrazine 3rd: slot i switch whatever i want
low: 3 Power diagnostic 1 2 Basic Heat Sinks 1 10% recharge -10% shield (to be replaced with 20 -25% one)
I have a cap recharge of 245 seconds and no cap problems with this setup.

Yes I have controlled bursts. I have all the gunnery skills at lvl 4 as well as lvl 5 gunnery =)
Right now Im working on getting my Electronics skills up a bit higher as well as the weapon skill that reduced turret CPU (cant remember the name offhand)

Probably you need energy opt/mgt to lv4 for really efficient usage of those beams. And I'm pretty sure 3 Heavy Beam with 2 Medium Beam, And All low go to Heat sink will do you Better Dmg/Sec, And Better cap control.

I'm a little amazed you chaps like your cruisers so slow ...
When I was spawn hunting with my lovely mallers "Momentary Lapse" and "Twice Shy" the loadout was typically;
4 Heavy modulated beams 1 kinetic smartbomb 2 Lif Afterburners 1 Medium Clarity Ward 3 Nanofibre hull mods 3 Power diagnostic systems
Now what this configuration lacks in hitting power (missing out on the heatsinks) it makes up in consistant power output and beautiful manoeuvrability.
The boosted power cap recharge can continuously fire the 4 heavy mods, run the burners and the shield regen ... meaning multiple farming of 50k npcs is a practical possibility.
With radio S you engage at 25-35 klicks and jink and weave with the sexy turning circle only 3 nanomods can provide.
2 burners and +45 mps on base from the nanos will bring the maller up to 500-600 mps dependent on skills as well. Easily allowing you to move in and out of effective range as whim dictates.
Using this config I have successful farmed 3 juggernaut (50k) spawns ... adding a lot of cans and then using the simultaneous finish technique to end the spawn for collection.
But a word of warning ... speed and sexy moves can make you overconfident ... I lost two of these ships to serpentis drug baron webifier death... Never underestimate 20k cruisers!

drug barons are 30k pirates :) the cheif sentinals are 20k.
Anyway, getting bored of my maller, but here is a taster of 1 config i use.
- 5x 650mm cannons (RoF 6.6secs, DMG 5.04x)
- 1x Photon Scattering (+70% EM Resistance) - 1x Heat Disspersion (+70% Thermal Resistance) - 1x X5 Prototype Statis Webifier (81% ish)
- 1x Photonic CPU - 1x Reactor Control Unit - 4x Gyrostabilizers
No cap drain from guns means I got plenty to spare. I'd prefer the guns to fire faster but I can easily take on 2x 20k npc's and still have ammo to spare (remember each gun only holds 20 bullets). Doing 70-125 a shot (usually getting in the 90's with a lot of 100+ shots) & more soon Because of the poor tracking on those guns the webifier slows my target down allowing me to hit pretty much everytime, maybe after patch tho the tracking will be up!
