Hmmm... I could have sworn I read in some book once that Viking means pirate. Ah well.

May I ask which book?
Thats maybe because of the viking raids to various parts of Europe, that the they got the pirate title.

The Vikings are often steroetyped as pirates when in actual fact many of them settled and became "carebears" (farmers). They say that modern day blond people are desended from vikings.
