hey, got destroyed....he came too close for my arties, warped me, and killed me in my cyclone....need to find a new ship to use....what would you all prefer....sumthing that can do lvl 2 missions....and is good against pirates who want to kill me in fast frigs lol....just all around good

You need to be more precise about what it is you need, i.e. what you want to do with your ship, what you want to defend against, etc.
Step 1, fit a web, no matter what. A web will let you hit anything better within 10k and will make any pirate think twice about messing with you.
Step 2: a Rupture should be able to handle level 2 missions. Good drone space for a non gallente cruiser, 4 turret slots, 3 missile slots, good agility. I recommend afterburner, 4 autocannons, 2 assault launchers, and armor tank in lows designed to tank NPCs of the mission you're doing, i.e. 1 med armor rep and 4 hardeners depending on the enemy type. Ruptures are also famous for smoking frigs, so pirates in small ships might think twice about fighting you.

thx for that =) yea i was thinkin about autocannons cuz arties r a pain in big ships cuz u gotta be far awa...and sum ships r just to fat....anyways, should i equip anything that can help against warp scrambles?

i ahve a problem knowing enemy types and such though, i dun understand...do u mean i should change my hardeners before every mission?
