hi all been looking on the forums for a ship fit to start doing low sec exploration complexes and only find fits for t3, ishtar and gilas on the forums. As a amarr pilot and only cross trained to caldari (withouth missile skills yet- working on it as we speak) need a not so expensive ship fitting -theres good probabilities of loosing a few as i gain experience. have t2 drones, t2 medium guns, cruiser 5, can use armor tank t2. im around 9,5mil skill points now. can use a Legion but i'd rather use another ship to get experience and after yes move to the legion. what would you recommend? I explore mostly in serpentis and blood raiders area. thx in advance |

might as well use an oracle or prophecy.

5/10 is probably pushing it for cruiser hulls that arent t3, especially amarr as you don't have the great range of sentries. |

Single rep, if you got webbers on the warpin, fit a web yourself, else pull some range and kill them before they reach orbit. Zealot and Legion are pretty similar, you can range tank smaller stuff and speed/sig tank the BS.
Another option would be the navy Omen, it got also the optimal bonus now and a small sig, but the capacitor, dps and tank is considerable worse compared to a zealot, even if dps and range difference it might be not so big without HAC 5.

The problem is the web towers in 5/10s (they sit at about 50km, so you do indeed need the two TCs in the mids).
This might do it:
[Zealot, DED 5] Corpum C-Type Medium Armor Repairer Corpum A-Type Energized EM Membrane Corpum C-Type Energized Thermic Membrane Damage Control II Beta Reactor Control: Capacitor Power Relay I Dark Blood Heat Sink Dark Blood Heat Sink
Experimental 10MN Afterburner I Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Medium Anti-Thermic Pump II Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II
You definitely want to abuse range in the first few rooms (harder in the Serpentis 5 due to moderate damping and low native targeting range on the Zealot; obviously change your tank up for that one as well). Third room, especially in the Blood version, will be extremely touch and go. Overheat tank on warp in, get the Exsanguinator down, and get out.
You're going to run into problems in the Blood 6 due to low damage as well; you may not have the tank to ignore the tower and your damage at 50km is going to make that grind painfully long. There's no earthly way you should be running the Serp 6 in that.
Another thing you could try is a Tachy Oracle. Like so:
[Oracle, anoms] Medium Armor Repairer II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Damage Control II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II
Experimental 10MN Afterburner I Cap Recharger II Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script
Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L Tachyon Modulated Energy Beam I, Imperial Navy Gamma L
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I
It might do a 5. If not, it will blow up and not cost too much. Gamma + Optimal range chosen specifically to get you to hit the web towers/Exsanguinator. I'd still go straight for the Exsanguinator and warp if I were you.
Finally, you're effectively working towards a Legion anyhow, so have a fit:
[Legion, blood 7] Corpum B-Type Medium Armor Repairer Corpum A-Type Energized EM Membrane Corpum C-Type Energized Thermic Membrane Imperial Navy Heat Sink Imperial Navy Heat Sink Imperial Navy Heat Sink
Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Script Cap Recharger II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump II Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Anti-Thermic Pump II
Legion Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir Legion Offensive - Liquid Crystal Magnifiers Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector Legion Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
And that should pull off Blood 4, 5, 6, 7, and possibly 8. You're still not running the Serp 6 in it though. |

The web towers in 5/10 are a serious pain in the ass, for me personally I find it slightly harder to tank than the 6/10 until a few towers are gone.
I don't think a Zealot is a good idea, best to use a T3. |

Looks good on paper to use a Zealot, right up until you look at what enemies it is best suited for and what they bring to the field.
Tried the Zeal and got neuted/TD'ed to hell and back, immensely powerful if you bring a Guardian buddy but otherwise an unnecessary loss (suppose one might do beams, but doesn't work well if engaged in PvP). Better to use the Sacrilege or one of the drone platforms, reckon the revamped Prophecy might do a good job at it ..same coincidentally goes if you are aiming for exploration in the non-Amarr areas (ie. Serp etc.).
When the the CC's are tiericided and if the Damnation adopts the Prophecy drone bias ...... |

well.... a non pimped legion can make the serpentis 5/10
Legion serpentis 5/10
armor rapairer II energized adaptive nano membrane II kinetic armor hardener II thermic armor hardener II heat sink II x3
10mn afterburner II tracking computer II (optimal range script) x2 cap recharger II
heavy pulse laser II (scorch) x5
medium auxiliary nanopump x2 medium nanobot accelerator
dissolution sequencer capacitor regeneration matrix liquid crystal magnifier nanobot injector fuel catalyst
touch and go tactic align to celestial while targeting sarpatis dps him while having the celestial selected and camera on boss, overload tank if dps keeps the damage on your ship above 1/3 armor damaged. kill, bookmark wreck. warp away :)
need to try this on a zealot with 2 reppers, got a feeling it might work |
