I can think of quite a lot of those fights, yesterday (in K8X I think) and friday in D7 the latest two examples. We came, we fought, Five fleed after losing some ships, we got the loot.
But we have lost a few as well, especially early in the war.
All in all, the side with most numbers usually win. I imagine this is the case in just about every fleet combat.
