So, this is what I have come up with.
1. I'd like to be heavy in Exploration, Archaeology, Hacking and Salvage. If need be I could transition into a Scout role for fleet Combat situations. 2. I'd like to do Planet Management. 3. I'd like to use all manner of Drones, from Scout to Combat, to Salvage drones. whatever I need, I'd like to have a set of drones for the task. 4. Railguns, or some other long distance combat would be my main guns, if I happen to need combat.
I'll figure the rest out later. Currently doing the SoE story arc.
I've trained the basic skills for these activities, but I need to figure out a decent plan for advancing my character in this direction going forward.
suggestions, advice, warnings?

put drones aside until you are comfortable in a cruiser size (2-3 months +..) especially having multiple sets of drones etc.. lern to fly a frig correctly.. zig-zag approach to create a greater angular velocity that make you hard to track by enemies. all sort of trics.. going long range is great for PVE but in pvp in a frig you want to be as close as possible to benefit from your small size.
For PI find a some quiet low traffic low sec to setup your PI stuff and only go there once per week (during low-traffic times) start small to learn from your mistakes at a smaller cost.. ALWAYS use basic processors to transform your RAW PI stuff into it's meta 1 material. (ex: micro-organism > bacteria) you should avoid making long links. route you extractors to a storage then create route from your storage to go into processors don't forget to route back your products into the storage.. I strongly suggest command-centre launched good as they spawn in a random spot instead of a possibly camped custom office. finally once you have several different resources find a nearby high-sec to mix your stuff together into more complex goods. the more you combine them the more profit.. possibly.. do your maths.. as sometime the market is better then combining into something the market don't need.
mail me for good PI low sec spots.. they wont be safe for long if I post them here. |

Exploration is a solid income path that doesn't require much. That'll be a good set of skills to emphasize early. Therefore, '[faction] Frigate 5' will be an early priority in order to get access to tech2 Covert Ops frigates, and their bonuses.
And Having frigate 5 has good overlap with pvp capacity, in the form of assault frigates, and interceptors. Those are always in-demand.
Train for the now, and not for later. As it relates to exploration, the other exploration skills are lower priority than frigate 5, but help decently. Don't train it if you don't need it, or if you don't believe that it'd be of immediate benefit. Training for the later is a mistake that I made myself, through focusing on fitting skills, at the expense of ship skills and weapon skills. While I don't regret it, it constrained my flexibility without compensating my potency very much.
Don't give much time to drones if you're focusing frigates. With the exception of the Tristan, frigates hardly use drones. And it's no surprise either, because the primary benefit of drones is their speed, which frigates already have. Drones only start getting particularly significant once you hit cruisers, and only to a limited extent then. Although I suppose some destroyers utilize them decently too, but those destroyers aren't particularly found to be the most effective in their size class.
Hybrid weapons will be the bigger deal, offering continual flexibility, power, and upgrade path.
Salvage, when you're new, is best done in a destroyer. Although salvage drones exist, they aren't so hot. So don't consider salvage drones to be a reason to focus drones at the moment.
Regarding PI, wait until you're at a decent 'stopping point' with your training, where you figure you can keep on doing what you're currently doing, and aren't feeling cramped by your current skills. At that point, pick up PI and focus that down for a while.
Bare in mind as you go on that you wont' be sticking with Gallente, or any other single faction if you do any PVP. In that realm, ship and weapon needs are all over the map. So don't fall into the mindset that you need to continue with the gallente flavor of things. |

So I am wondering how I should remap my Attributes to help me train faster along the path i want to follow. Looking at all my skills to see what attributes they require and whatnot.
any thoughts? |

I would leave them as they are for the short term, the reason being that the skills you are most likely to be training as a new player will depend on all the different attributes. So having them all set the same won't be much of a loss.
The exception to this would be if you are using EveMon to plan for at least a few months ahead, then you can use the 'optimise attributes' feature to tell you what the best set of attributes would be for that plan.
For the first couple of months you might be better off getting cybernetics up a couple of levels so you can plug in some cheap learning implants, +2 or +3, Genolutions if you have them. Then when you have a clearer idea of what you want to do, make a plan in evemon and go from there. You can look up EveMon in the evelopedia (button at the top ) and there are links to the downloads there as well IIRC.

It's worth considering: following a plan early on is extremely difficult/unlikely. As you learn more, and find yourself in new situations, you'll find new desires and demands that pull you away from your plan or frustrate you. Particularly so if you take to heart the advice to pursue versatility before specialization. Versatility is great when you're new, while specialization yields highly diminishing returns. This is recurring theme in Eve.
But as a rule of thumb, Intelligence/memory is going to help you with fitting skills. Perception/Willpower is going to help you with weapons and ships. And a remap is only worth burning if you think you're going to be dedicating to one category for over a month, minimum. Given your prior words, I would suggest to stay with a 'balanced' remap if you already have one. |

PROTIP! Don't do this at your age. You have far to many things to train. Consider that this is a ONCE A YEAR possibility once they are all used up. Once you remap, you cannot undo what you have done for a year. At least wait till you are close to the 1 year mark. Trust me, you'll thank me in 3 months or you'll look back at this post and say "I should have taken that guys advice". |

Contrary to #2 post. PROTIP! Get drones to 5!, drones are a force multiplier and neglecting them only hamstrings yourself, especially if you fly gallente racials.
P.I. Consult a PRO, that subject i'm dumber than dirt at.
Railguns PROTIP! Rails and Blasters both excellent choices depending upon what you are attempting to achieve. Rails work for pve especially when kiting damage. Blasters are a melt-your-face off weapon of pvp but are also excellent Rat busters assuming you can handle the damage they throw at you as you are gut punching them into wreckage.
Take your time, 1. Train your core certs to basic quickly as possible 2. Train your basic defense certs asap. 3. Train 1 & 2 to standard as possible in amongst other skills 4. Work on Drones, Guns, whatever your desire
The 4 above are a crash course. My suggestion is to get with a uni corp that can assist you in knowledge, material, and fun. Good luck and fly safe ! |

I recommend working on getting +3 implants asap.
I went for +5's by selling a PLEX...but I was working too much to play so I knew I wouldn't be podded in PvP for a while to lose them.
Edit: This character is fresh off the block pretty much. (Outside of having skills trained) |

I know most say don't remap until your character is a little older, but every year plan I have plugged in evemon has always told me to max int/per. So that is what I did. Not sure if that works for an explorer build. Also what do you need to warp cloaked and be stealth at all times? do you need the T2 explorer frigs? Also do you come unstealthed when you do the sites ? |
