Hi folks,
Im sorta a noob and old time player too lol, i have over 6mill SP and can use alot of ships and weapons. Just recently come back into the fray :D.
But i cant remember alot about eve or whats up now. So could anyone advised a good low/nullsec pvp ship for Amarr, I bought a retribution last night just for kicks and its fun in T2 missions lol. should i be using a T1 frigate, or another race frigate for starting out...again! lol :D
I own most amarr frigates already and destroyers and BC's, interceptor, AF. forget some of there names. oh and a Gnosis lol.
I may even start a new character up on my other account either mimitar or caldari. my caldari guy already has 1.2 mill SP's.
*oh if i already have use of T2 small pulse lasers, should i train up like projectile and stuff to that level too? |

I am very new, so can not give you direct advice, but when I was looking through these very forums I found this linked in a post only a few days old and helped me out.
http://www.evealtruist.com/p/know-your-enemy.html
Has all the T1, T2 frigates, faction ships and Cruisers plenty of ships, tells you how they attack i e kite, brawl or if they can do both there strengths there weaknesses, helped me a ton not only in learning what to expect in pvp (when I am ready I'm only hours old!) but what suits my play style, very nice to have information condensed like this. |

A few things which should factor into your considerations when settling on what shiptypes to start to pvp with:
- Are you going to be in a corp, or solo? If you have regular fleets available, you are best off going to your FCs for advice. EVE is, after all, not a singleplayer game, and you will generally have a more enjoyable time of it if you are flying in a group; on the other hand, some prefer the lone wolf style, and this does also mean you get to keep all loot from your kills for yourself.
- Budget. You will inevitably lose ships while killing others, especially earlier on while you are still learning what works and what doesn't. It is important to be able to replace your ships, on a regular basis, so don't settle on those which would run you out of money after only a few losses. That's often the reason that T1 cruisers and such are used, as they can be very cost-effective.
- Location. If you are in a busy system with constant pvp, or in nullsec, or in quiet lowsec picking off the occasional ill-advised capsuleer flying an unescorted cargo ship, you will be needing different loadouts.
- Skills, of course, play a factor, but are not the be-all-and-end-all. A skillfully flown ship with optimal fittings generally makes a larger difference than a couple 10-25% bonuses. Especially when it comes to turret-based weaponry, learning to manage your flight speed and direction to give your turrets the best tracking while reducing that of your opponent will take you far.
Based on what you've said, I would recommend starting out with assault ships or T1 cruisers, as these are generally not the most expensive hulls (easier to replace) but when used correctly, can be devastatingly effective. ISD IonCharge Captain, ISD:STAR |

Don't think bigger is better. it isnt.
The idea is to buy and fit 10 of your chosen hull, and lose them all. You will be lucky to get any kills in this first batch, but thats not the point. The point is that by the second batch, you are starting to get a feel for what to, and not to do, and then you will start winning a few.
The first 10 frigs will cost you maybe 70 mill. !0 cruisers would be considerably more.

Attack Frigates Combat Frigates
each has a slightly different role
afaik attack is primarily tackler first brawler second, combat reverses that look at how you prefer to fly, chose the frigate that fits that style
this may mean a small degree of cross-training, it may not. |

Punisher. A good solid ship that will forgive mistakes and bring you home when others have failed. Try and get it set so that you can fire it's lasers and run it's small Armour Repper while maintaining a stable CAP. Once you can do that you are pretty much on the right track for flying all Amarr ships |
