So I was using the Vexor the other day since it looked like a promising miner while I did some studying. I loaded it with Miner IIs and mining drones, with a few heavies for defense.
The heavies were pretty beastly and it was fairly strong tanking. Anyone use these lately? It seems promising if I threw a real loadout at it, almost like a mini-Dominix.

vex is an underrated ship. i've seen them do some sick things.

It sucks.. especially if you have 5 Nosferatus on it [;)]
Seriously I live the vex. Its a strong versitile ship that can handle its own wieght in a fight. I flew a thorax for a bit and went back to the Vex and the Celestis. They were just more fun to fight with, and much cheaper too.

problem with pre RMR vexor is that a thorax can do everything it can... but better.
more grid, more drone space, more slots, more armor, more damage.
it can do the nos cruiser gig with a tank (hello 8 heavy drones?)
the only thing it CANT do as well as a vexor is running an anti interceptor light drone swarm setup...but even then, light drones suck monkey cum.
but post RMR... ive been testing the vexor... its very VERY nice. its a whole different ship (basically a less unbalanced verson of the current rax).

If you like a vexor wait till you get an Ishtar or Dominix those are even more evil.
Dominix is one of the few tier 1 battleships that can tank lvl 4 angel spawns and break their tanks. It s relative low cost and versatility make it one of the most usefull battleships and also most underrated.

What interests me in the Vexor is that it looks like it can hold a ton of medium drones, or a pretty decent swarm of heavies and a handful of NOS.
The best part of all those capabilities, it's damn cheap! It hurts when you lose a Platerax, you could easily toss out two of these for the same price.

Yeah just ask spulm, hes ******* insane with his vexor, kills raxes and HACs in it.

hell of a ship ... get that 1600 armor on ... light 150 rails named or twos ... med nos small nos .. four med slots -- all for five million isk .. !
i took a thrax down to 3/4 structure on my first set up ...had he not had on a nos i was eating him .. !

I'm fairly new (~3 months total in game) and, with the upcoming drone changes, switched to the Vexor from a 'rax. My first experience with it was running level 4s (mostly as morale booster / loot grabber) with 3 BSs with some similar newbie friends... It tanked a BS for a few rounds ('til it ran out of cap, easily long enough to warp, not even in structure), and a fair group of cruisers for nontrivial time.
Throw in the drone bonuses (my wussy skills give me 7 hammerheads) and I have no trouble at all blowing through level 2s. Great ship for new players. (I equip with 2x200, 2x150, web, ab, booster, repper, PDU, stab -- great NPC frigate killer, good all-around).
