Not really, but heres the would-be advertisement that I could post in Sell forum and fully expect that I would not be banned nor my post locked or deleted.
Quote:
WTS ISK for cash.
I hold in my possession one Eve-Online 50 day timecard, valued by CCP at $29.95US, which I will sell to you for $28.95 US.
I will then buy the same 50 day timecard off you for 200 million isk.
All completely allowed under CCP's current definition of the EULA. Im allowed to sell an unused timecode to another user for cash, as it is physical property owned by me. Im allowed to then buy that timecode back for isk, as its CCP's way of sticking their finger in the isk selling pie.
Timecodes / cards for isk has simply got to go. ------- Skill points. ISK. Ships, rare equipment. Its all just a means to an end...
Your end.

Your awsome arguments on why it's bad will surely make CCP do it your way within the next 10 seconds.
Why people actualy don't browse the forums before starting topics that have been discussed in several threads in the past few weeks is beyond me.

Your constructive comment will be taken on board
Maybe, just maybe (crazy idea?) some of us have jobs, while others even go "outside" at times, and dont all have time to troll every thread looking for somewhere to flame.
Its also worth pointing out to the peanut gallery that there is no relevant topic currently in the first 3 pages of GD. ------- Skill points. ISK. Ships, rare equipment. Its all just a means to an end...
Your end.

Technically I don't think CCP do allow you to sell on timecards for IRL cash. Actually being able to stop you, though, is a whole other matter.

"Im allowed to sell an unused timecode to another user for cash, as it is physical property owned by me. Im allowed to then buy that timecode back for isk, as its CCP's way of sticking their finger in the isk selling pie."
... and then?
(incidentally, the rules of Sell forum permit only "sales of In-Game items for In-Game ISK" meaning no, you couldn't put offer to sell the game card for real money, there)

a lot of MMOs allow real life cash for items - eve doesnt work on that principle. And i think it shouldnt this game is for social enjoyment not for making money.
If u want to do that goto wow or something - as it stands macro miners are being pummeled im empire atm.. Several suicide corps have propped up and are wrecking havoc - i expect the cost of RL ISK even though illegal via the EULA to in the black market on ebay to rise quite a bit - either that or the farmers will find other methods of generating ISK

Please people, stop smoking pole.
Selling Gametime for isk is same thing like selling Minerals for isk.
Why?
Both, isk and minerals are aquired by spending REAL money, on account or card. That money goes to CCP, and CCP allows trading game items/services for ISK. period.
Now that we figuret out this little leagal issue, can we move out and whine abaut macroers and eBayers?

The sell order forum rules permit the trade of in-game items for in-game isk and items only. The exceptions are things which are treated as in-game items such as characters, game time codes and services like making signature images for others. You may not sell anything for cash on the sell forum.

Well I got a corpmember that needs timecard and don't have a creditcard, so I buy him timecards he pay me in isk... as far as I know it is legal (still).
He loves to play EVE and I don't and would not do it as a profession, I buy these 50 days timecards from EVE-Online (always wondered where those 90 days timecards came from).
That I don't see a problem with so far, it is not like I really "Farm" isk this way... I only do this to help out a friend that don't have a creditcard and no gamecards in a store next to him. ---------------------------------------------- "When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child: now that I am become a man, I have put away childish things." 1 cor. |

Well they already know it's being abused but they had good intentions. They wanted people who couldn't afford the cash to be able to play the game. People already pay their friends in isk to sign them up and such, this just opens the market on it. Not sure what to make of it, myself, except that the abuse of the system is nasty.
EDIT: There you go. That guy above me has the right idea. That's what they were meant to be for, helping out a friend, not for farming isk with cash.

Welcome to last month's argument.
CCP knows that they screwed up (see some of my quotes of Kieron), and that what they thought would work great came back and "bit them in the ass." However, at the same time, it helps keep people in the game who otherwise couldn't.
Most likely they will find a compromise which makes it impossible to sell 150 of them. - Proud member of the [23].

CCP has heard all the objections against selling timecards for isk and will determine if anything needs to change.
We have had so many many threads about this subject I will lock this one.
Forgot what I wanted to write here... |
