Hi all,
So Ive been going through some of the movie archives, thinking hey, i can do that, but Ive got a couple of questions.
Frist, I know that most people use "fraps" to capture the sequences, but I find this program to be "grainy" or choppy in quality even when I set my puters resolution to its highest settings. Is this a fuction of the program itself of my graphics card?
Is there a "studio" quality program out there that someone has used before, and could reccomend? This would be for the actual capture.
And is there a software package of good quality that is commercially available, for editing music/video in one suite?
Anyone have any links/reccomendations?

An example commercial level setup.
An ATI card with a HDTV component out adapter on the DVI and running the 2nd DVI port in clone mode running on a 1080p capable monitor
BOXX workstation with bluefish 444 catalyst capture card. Hook up the component outs from your first computer to the BOXX workstation and start capturing in premire.
Easily USD$25-30k but dammn would it look good.

Well...how about posting your box's specifications so there's something to compare to? :P
I know I've had low framerates when using FRAPs with my ti4200 128mb gfx card and 512mb ram, but that's to be expected.
I know have 2.5 gb dual DDR 400mhz and soon will be installing my ATI x850PRO (AGP) and will likely assume that there's going to be a tremendous improvement.
*my older specs would yeild something around 8-12 fps with FRAPs when doing work in SWG on low graphics. Nothing good from it and never produced anything.

Fraps can't record fullscreen above certain resolutions. I personally run eve @ 1152*864 windowed to get the best looking fraps.

Thnk you, this was the change i needed. I was running too high resoultion i belive....
