Good idea except molten iron might singe it a little bit.
Theres also the problem of getting a hold of it in the first place to make a mould. Are you good at stealing?

If I remember correctly a CCP concept model was given away to some lucky bastard who won a competition. I think this is the one, could be wrong though.

I'm pretty sure that was a Brutix. So this one can't be CCP's.

there were 2 models of the Brutix, 1 was given to Shin Ra for winning the pvp tourney at this year's FF. The model looked awesome. ----------------------

Edited by: Dahin on 09/12/2005 17:01:30 I wonder if one of our (many) geeks in eve has access to those 3-d modelling thingies at his workplace (like this one)
I bet he has all of the ships in his collection by nw
EDIT: As it seems, you feed it the models from the usual tools and it spits models. I WANT ONE! Also, as it seems, you can order a print for a quite "modest" price for such a technology ($100-200?). Tech is named "rapid-prototyping"

I can see a major money making opportunity here for CCP - I'd definitely take a Raven, and possibly some others (depending on the price).
CCP - get on it!

The pictured model (or one *very* much like it) was given away at FanFest 2004 as a prize in the Fedo Hunt. A Brutix was given away at FanFest 2005 as a prize for winning the PvP Championship.
Both models are 1 of 2 concepts. We are still working on arrangements for the production of ship models and hope to have them in the EVE Store in the future.
The detail of the models has changed between the Megathron and the Brutix. Whereas the Mega has no painted detail on it, as seen in the picture, the Brutix was made with a different process that injects features into the model as it is made.
More model news will be released as it is available.

Nice, I'll look forward to those. I reckon I'd buy a mega, an executioner, and a tristan if they were available.
Heres the brutix model for those interested: http://pic.eve-online.com/model/16229_large_2.jpg
It looks exactly like it was 3d printed from the game, it appears to have the exact same polygonal curves as it does in game. Give us higher res meshes if you do start manufacturing them

Solo playing is a valid play style. Or at least CCP thinks the money they get is valid. |
