these r in most big mining high scurity sector. is there anything ccp can do like make large security containers bigger so u can actually use them for mining, or make access requirements for normal containers anyone have any suggestions for countering these postive rating thiefs ?? .. taking a security hit isnt really an answer either

Reportedly this next patch will allow for two new, larger inceptions of the secure canisters. Look to the market for purchase soon.

Their ship will probably get smoked in high-sec space though, since I keep hearing the police damage has been increased a lot.

Simple instructions for dealing with can thieves:
1. make a Caldari char.
2. Choose those training trees that start you with level 4 frigate and level 2 missle.
3. Xfer some cash to that char.
4. Buy and train for cruiser..Buy a caracal.
5. Train missles
6. Load Caracal with Torps or Cruise Missles and a MWD and passive targeter.
7. Passive target them(so they dont run right away) and fire....they die.
8. Finaly MWD away from the cops and log..go back to mining.

The newly introduced Huge and Giant sized Secure Containers are about the best that CCP seems able to provide without making huge loopholes for exploitation. Unfortunetly they forgot to put one thing in when they made these Huge and Giant Cans.................. the Set Password function on the Right-Click options box........... Genius ! Pure Genius !

First off: They steal from you, your whole corp get killrights. Have a buddy with a scrambler and some decent firepower the thief's will be no more.

Be careful with this one :) For most ore thives will keep a decent amount of firepower around, because hey.. if you're going to blow up their million isk hauler, they are going to push the *kaboom* button on whatever it was you used. And then again, some will just blow up your protection in their hauler. (Or, if they figure they can't take out your protection, stab up to within an inch of their life, then come back)

Just keep it in mind. You'll need 6 points of scram on an Iteron Mark V. Seven if he's flying an Occator :)

Edit: 6 points of scram, not stab...stupid fingers.

I've found that the best way to get a can of ore is to show up in local and offer to haul for people.

They put you in their gang, and you go to a full can, take its contents, and warp off.

You're putting it somewhere else, and when they ask you where you've put it (after some number of hauls), you drop out of the gang.

Someone I think said it in this thread or another one.

Best way to deal with Ore Thieves is to find out what they do with the ore. A lot of them refine and haul it out of the system they're thieving in.

Find em. Then get 3 friends with Caracals. Make sure 1 has a smart bomb. Hang out in front of the station and suicide their Indy. Make sure friend with smartbomb is right next to the Indy so you pod the thief too!!!

This will cost you 20 million to put together, and really upsets the thief.

Don't bother trying to kill a thiefs cheap frigate. Hit em where it hurts.

We podded a thief with +4 implants hahaha.
