I am thinking about byuing an armageddon next week. I know it's major letdown is the 3 med slots. IS this ship worth it still or do i have to run in fear each time i cross a scorpion? What should i fit in the 3 medium slots?

Yes, if you encounter a Scorpion 1on1 you should run in fear... But every ship should do that.
However, the very weak firepower of the Scorpion should allow you to get away.
The Arma is the ship that deals most damage in EVE. That's it. It has the weakest defence, but strongest offense. Up to you to decide what suits your style of play...

100% agree,
i had 6x heavy modulated energy beams in combination with heavy modulated energy pulse beam. And 8 x Extruded heatsinks 2's and i made such incredible dmg that i blasted NPC pirates with 460-500 dmg a hit. (average dmg was 150-200).
1 more med slot and it would be THE ship for me to fly. :)

Great for melting evil traitorous scumbags who sell out to the Minmatar as well.

I'll buy one next week (should have the isk by then) so if anyone of you produces them or want to get rid of one message me ingame. Ingamename: Stonyvision
Btw: I can get one for 60mill allready so it should be below that price.

It will provide versatillity similar to that of the Omen. A worthy investment for obtaining additional isk through multiple activities.

umm... you'd have to be mad to fly around in ANY battleship on your own. Whatever BS you choose (same goes for cruisers), always make sure that you have backup. There is no best ship in Eve, there is only best combinations of ships. -------------------------------------------- Dead

Do you often see entire fleets of mixed ships flying together? My answer would be no, most pilots are solo, a few travels with a corpmate/friend.
Do you never leave a station alone?

Err, yes in 0.0 sec space.
I'm talking about combat ops setup, not strolling around in high sec space, dumbass.

0.0 space is never unsafe. IF you meet someone dangerous (i.e. a pirate warps to the gate you're heading for, just warp away to a safe spot (drain cap, warp until you run out of cap). I've never gotten myself into a fight by travelling on my own in 0.0 space, except for one I started myself, firing on a pirate. No need for insults 10 seconds of invul, you know. You've got at least 10+locking time to react so that you can warp/jump away.

When you drop out of warp your invulnerable for a period of time, the person comming out sees this as realgning magnetic field and alot of the time it lasts up to or more then 10 seconds, heck the other night we had a guy who had like 35 40 seconds due to the lag spikes.
--- Sig --- We've all dealt with it. In-game customer support. You would think that by now game companies might start to clue into the fact that a player whose run into a problem is already in a bad mood. So why design a support system around just ****ing them off all the more?

My corp mates have various battleships. Their ships: Scorpion (will do the EW i lack) , Megathron and Dominix.
Don't worry i wont go into PvP without EW support. =) I only fear being jumped while doing npc hunting or mining but the region i am in is quite safe. We don't like visitors and drive them out hehe.
