Hello, I' m wondering something.
for the last week i've been happily doing lvl 2 security missions. A challenge, sometimes, but always doable.
but since monday morning, they've been wiping the floor with me, like within seconds. I've lost a ship, and barely escape two others without even denting one target?
has something changed?
thanks |

Different lvl 2 missions have different difficulty. Maybe you only had easy ones last week?
Or you ran into that strange "grouped weapons only firing one of the group" bug that some others have been reporting. |

As the previous poster said they have varying degrees of difficulty, if you go here, you can get the intel you need.
Your fit might not be ideal for the mission, please let us know what ship/fit and mission. |

In case the mission in question is called "Recon, part 1 of 3" you are not meant to try to blow up any of the enemies. Just hurry to the acceleration gate and use it to finish the mission.
After trying to clear it it may have been be too late for that strategy since all opponents had shown up already. Then you could wait for the next downtime - which has happened by now. It resets missions in progress that don't have its objective completed.
Or you could ask for assistance either in local or some friendly chat channel like for example HelpMyMission. Someone with a Battleship, decent Battlecruiser or similar will be able to clear the mission from pirates so you could easily reach the gate. |

The basic things to watch out for:
1. different 'rats have different resists, so you may need to swap damage types to take them fast
2. different 'rats have different outgoing damage types, so you may need to check your own resists, maybe modify them
3. some encounters have heavier ships or lots of ships and you'll need to kite them or orbit them to avoid being hit
Naming a specific mission might help us help you a bit, or are there several giving you issues? |

When I came back from my year long break I decided to get back into some missions and this one came up. And, yeah, wow those things were tough. Those cap draining bastards crippled me something fierce. It took me clearing all of part 1 and part 2 before I realized. You know... I don't ever remember fighting those guys before. > <

Though if you can eventually tank them, both the first and second mission in that set are great isk makers because of the amount of bounties they have. I once podded myself by blowing a huge fart. |
