Eager as a kid at Christmas, I logged in as soon as I could after patch, went out and bought a brand new Astrogeology skill training kit and started it training.
I was curious how it would stack with my Mining skill of 5, so I went and used a Miner I to mine 1 cycle worth of Veldspar. Predictably, I got 500 Veldspar in one cycle (40m3 from Miner I x 1.25 for Mining 5 / 0.1 m3 per unit Veld).
Astrogeology finished training and I ran another cycle with the same laser. To my shock and horror, I got the same 500 Veld. I should have gotten 520, possibly 525 depending on how they stack.
Does Astrogeology not stack with Mining? Surely this is a bug? If not what use is Astrogeology, since it requires high mining skill to even attain?

Check your mining laser, the value there should be Mining + Astrogeology combined.
I get 55.2 units (with a Miner I) with Mining level 4 and Astrogeology level 3.

Might have to log out and then back in. Sometimes new acquired skills don't function properly till you do. |

I looked and saw that Astrogeology seems to say that it reduces mining duration ... so maybe try looking at the cycle duration or timing it.

I had this problem. Logged this didnt fix it.
Took all mining lasers of and put them back on again. Sorted :)
