Since they will be very, very rare and are so freakin' huge:
Wont it be cooler if they leave a carcass, slowly drifting in space instead of blowing up in a cloud of gas?

How about 100k damage to everything within 100km, 50k damage to everything within 200km, and 10km damage to everything within 300km?

LoL, That would be funny.
Titan activates uber weapon and 50% of ships Blow up, Then the Titan blows up killing every thing else in range.

tread hijack 4tl?
It's about having a leftover wreckage of a destroyed titan, not how it blows up

deathstar was a construction failure anyway :D
but yes, I like that idea of a remaining wreck. and to ensure that time won't produce too much lag due to too much wrecks floating around CCP should just set a fix number of wrecks in eve universe.
like : 20 Titans 20 Motherships 50 Dreads 70 Carriers
and since those wrecks would only be clientside, the datatrafic would stay very small (coordinates, type of wreck, perhaps a label)

Not a bad idea, probably just give the thing a fixed life span, say after 2 weeks/month, gravity caught the thing and it made a pretty shooting star over planet X.

More like "crashed on planet X exterminating all life" Theres some story about a gallente titan who once destroyed a planet by pulling a moon out of orbit with it gravity cause it was so huge... or sumtin

I think the idea of derilict hulls for giant ships is really cool. Titans are big enough that where they die, they could create a "dungeon" for rats then and there.
How cool would it be to have scavenging missions on those hulls? Heck, you could even have them "picked clean" in time and have a time frame for them dissapearing that makes sense in the game world.

Titan Debris should be minable for a large profit of minerals. Afterall, their hulls look like they were carved out of a moon.

It would also be kind of neat to see all capital ships drop some of their major build components in some form.
Talk about loot when you need something freighter-sized to retrieve it.

Maybe you should be able to examine them with the archeology skill and extract left over capital components...

I hope your not being too sarcastic - I like that idea! Introduce yet another skill tree, Or sciences to do it, It should require a pretty hefty skill requirement I think - and should have fairly minimal yeild. But just a little something to help.

Signed. Although I dont think they should stay there any longer than 3 or 4 weeks, and mining there hulls would be great! Make salvaging skills/ ships a great idea!

If there would be a leftover of about 10% of the costs...this would be gorgeous. Every skill line can examine the wreckage (engineering, science, electronics and so on) for some time (about an hour or two) and maybe you find something that was not destroyed. A maximum of 1% it's worth in each line (if a line is "empty" you can still search, but you wouldn't find anything) and 5% of the res can be mined (maybe at doubled speed). If the 5% are mined, the wreckage is gone.

I like the idea of derelict ships in space. It'd be nice to see a few broken hulls hanging in space after a massive fleet battle or even a relatively small skirmish.
