...anyone else? After I read that article about the huge heist in this month's issue I had to see how different things were since I tried it last year. I'll admit, when I tried it the first time, I just gave up after a few days of feeling lost. It was very frustrating trying to understand what the heck I was supposed to be doing.
All I can say now is great job with the new tutorial. Entering the game last time, and entering the game this time don't even compare. It feels like a new game, and I definitely know what I am doing now, so again, kudos to a job well done with the tutorial revamp!

That article is what convinced me to complete my pilot's license and fire up my first set of thrusters.
I look forward to serving the State.

PCGamer is what got me into EVE too, but that was back when the trial was only 3 days.. in fact, I still have the very CD that has made me play this game for ages

I too joined when PCGamer did an article, but that was this time last year. Still here and loving every minute. I guess they have just done another article....

Here the same thing... I knew that EVE existed, but never tried it. When i read the last PC Gamer, I came to the site and downloaded the client. I have played trhough all the tutorial, and I have a feeling that I'm going to play continously from now on.

I did not see the PCgamer spot on it although I stumbled upon it in a recent mentioing in someones post on another forum. I figured I had to see what the game was about and since I've cancled all accounts with SOE's games I _was_ in the market for a new MMO.
I've been playing EVE since the 9th of December and will be activating at least on account. I think the game is great and am having a great time.
There's a little room for improvement although it's clear the developers are defintely knowledgable on what makes an awesome game since they've done it with EVE. :)

We now got more then 10 people from our clan playing this game, and more and more members are being converted every day

Hail PCG and their 3-day trial that got me and kept me here way back when. I think they've done alot for this community.

The Memory skill, the Intelligence skill, and the Learning skill should probably be the first focused skills (at the very least, train them up to level 2 or 3, it doesn't take that long, but you may want to try other skills so you can actually enjoy the trial), then it depends on what you want to do.

The PCG article brought me in as well. I was getting seriously bored with EQ2 and thought eve sounded fresh and edgy from reading that piece.

The artical never made me get the game, i got the game after watching the EVE never fades video which they had put on the cover disk (may have been PC zone).
Watched that, then i thought "i have to get that game".

That PC Gamer article totally re-hooked me back into Eve. I played it for a couple months back in 04 (and had just got a Thorax when I let my subscription lapse). Now I'm back in, trying to get the hang of things all over again.

I remember reading a side by side article when EvE and EnB were in production in PCGamer that made my decision for me, in jan of 04 they had a trial on the cover disk late in jan I had broadband in I was paying a 6 month sub by Feb.
So play eve because of PGC ; check Buy PCG because of the EVE article; check
A vicious circle indeed. |

I picked up the free trial because a Guildie of mine from Kal/GW/SRO was checking out the game and had been talking about it. Then he put up a post on our forum and next thing I know im playing thru the tutorial and loving it.
Thanks to chatting around a bit and meeting some nice people, I have managed to get myself into an Imicus, joined the Corp Just livingm and managed to collect a little over 1 million ISK, granted the 1mill was a gift lol.
I have a strong feeling that after my trial expires I will start up another one to test out another race, and then pick up whichever I like the best once I can get the spare money to start a full account.

I tried EVE a long time ago and grew frustrated with the lack of info available to me at the start. After reading the PC Gamer article i took another look and have been floored by the amount of info available to me at the start now. I am currently enjoying my 14-day trial and will be switching over to a paid subscription when it ends.

good stuff what i like to hear this just compounds my view tht eve is the best mmo out there, no other gives you such freedom in a universe of such reality, enough of ork bashing its bin done before, eve is on the edge and pushes the mmo boundries in every single way.

I first heard about EVE at the collapse of Earth and Beyond (which I betaed and played to the end). At that time I did not want to do another space based game so I went on to other things. About 3 weeks ago I stumbled on an EVE banner ad while surfing the web and signed up for the free trial. ABout 2 days later I saw the PCG article and was blown away. I changed the trial to subscription and I am enjoying it immensely so far.

Looked at the page when it appeared on the CAD news page. Decided I needed to inject the game into my veins somehow after I saw EVE Never Fades XL
Although now I have to rob a liquor store in the hopes of buying a lifetime subscription ;)
