I know the restrictions that are in RmR will help to some extent. One of the biggest problems will still be macro'ers getting into a cruiser on day 1 and loading it with 3 miner lasers and engaging their macro.
Would it not curb it even further and make it unfriendly to them to restrict to 1 mining laser for the first 14 days? Cant make alot with 1 laser and there for it may be too much effort to bother with them.
I am probably wrong but please tell me why if I am

nearly all the macro/farmers i've seen have either been in destroyers or cruisers so rmr wont make that much difference tbh

Edited by: Magden on 12/12/2005 18:44:32 I've always wondered by EVE does not ask for credit card information (lots of other game trials do). If they did, wouldn't that cut down on trail account abuse?
EDIT: typo

Edited by: Archa on 12/12/2005 18:51:06 why not just make it impossible to connect with a trial account, if someone with the same ip is already using a trial account?

I've never understood why this couldn't be done (restricting number of IP connections). To be honest, I'd go a step further and limit ALL types of accounts to one per IP at a time. I know that will never happen because it would impact CCP's bottom line too much, but alt exploitation is just as bad.

Edited by: Asestorian on 12/12/2005 19:21:22 If you limit trial accounts too much, EVE's new players will start to become rare..
Most macroers seem to use full accounts anyway, and then use the trial accounts to transfer the ISK and then delete the character without being able to be traced so easily.

Edited by: Brastagi on 12/12/2005 19:25:03 Am I missing something that macrominers don't need indy to haul their work? (seing that indy is restricted in trial acc) Or the indy itself is the macro operator?

honestly then I wouldnt be playing today if that was implemented. When I started this game, I was playing with 2 other of my friends out of the same house's dsl line... The Damsel is no longer in distress. She was rescued enough times that she got the hint and installed better security systems at home. |
