A growing number of players would appreciate a rollback about now, no way you GM's are going to be able to answer all these petitions in a pre-christmas period

Edited by: Dragon Emperor on 14/08/2003 21:44:28 solve the petition not roll back, since missing bps added to market are in very low quantity, and I happen to get one, if they roll back, that means I may not have the luck again, that also means I lose the bp, I pay same money as anybody else, my bp should be as same important as others'

true it should, but many of us also got BP's, only to lose them to bugs. It also isnt fair if we have to wait a week to get them back.

simple, put your BP's in a courier mission to an alt of yours, break open the parcel to get them, then come back and repeat what you posted.

****e happens..
You must be new here because i've never trusted courier missions.
They wont rollback to help 10 people that lost items due to using the courier missions to transfer stuff.. You should of tested that before doing so.. I mean test it after every patch. You should get out there and get some new blueprints before they are all gone though.

Mr N Stuff, you sound like a right tosser. Some of the BP's lost to new bug with courier missions were mine. Katchin was kind enough to pick them up for me, & after monitoring the help channel for a while, a great many other players have befallen this bug. Get your facts correct before flaming you nonce; both Katchin & myself have a battle ship, so how can we be newbies, tosser.

Ok Mr name caller.. oh..
The last rollback was due to a fact that lots of players were receiving BILLIONS of isk when they died..
There wont be a rollback to save your blueprints. Sorry.

I personally lost 2 ship BPs to this bug before I realized that nothing was comming out of the packages I was opening. I assumed it was putting them at the bottom of the window...then I noticed that there was no scroll bar (I was really tired after waiting for the patch to go through). I hope they replace them.

Almost the first thing I did in retail was loose 300k in a courier mission (that was alot as a new character)... People are still using them? The GM I petitioned back then told me to simply not use them as they simply did not work as intended.
Still, the right thing would be to remove them from the game until they work properly.

Mr n Stuff, you are obviously missing the point here. Courier missions have several uses, one of which is the ability to transfer items from one character to another, ie an alt. The fact that we use this method as opposed to others is that it worked perfectly well before the patch screwup. If the courier missions were screwed, then CCP should of let us know, or taken away the ability of using said method. If CCP had introduced extra office space in this patch as they promised, that then would be another method of thransferring items; but alas that is yet another feature they have negated on.

Katchin, this is a known bug. Put the petition in and keep your fingers crossed that you get the contents back.
Took us 8 days to get our contents back, but the logs were able to show we had it.
Ours happened about 11 days ago, so this has been going on since way before this patch. Others have had the same problem.

I used courier missions very timidly at first. But, after a while I started using them almost daily without any problems, until today.
I don't think a rollback is in order here. If they rollback the data, and keep the same patch, then it'll just happen over again. Except only this time, those who know about it can avoid it...
I used this between two characters in the same corporation. So, those who think this applies to pirates, you're wrong.
I had an alt parked at a market this morning to see what BPs came with the new patch. I bought them under him, then set courier missions for my main character to pick them up. My main char was in non-empire space yesterday, and didn't want to bring him to empire space before the server went down.
Luckily, most of my purchases was in multiple packages. So, when I went to pick up the first, I found out quickly it didn't work.

Maybe you shouldn't rely on alts who are not in your corp to transport stuff because you don't think it's safe for your main character to do it cause you might have ****ed someone off.

Edited by: Hydroxide on 15/08/2003 00:20:53 Edited by: Hydroxide on 15/08/2003 00:19:09 Still won;t replace the ships lost to lag and the numberous other screw ups this patch.
The only way to set things back to pre patch conditions would be to rollback the server to pre-patch conditions. Doing that will allow the dev team to fix the patch so people won't undock from a station to find themself ina pod whne the screen loads.
Rolling back will cost people one day not rolling back will cost people weeks worth of work and numberous more accounts.

i'm also wondering about that, i used exploit, it seemed the best option to use. they should add an option to petitions. one that asks for immediate help, but isnt isnt an exploit, stuck or cheat.

I think I posted it as... "other", but I'm out of game now so I can't remember the categoroes. Some guidance from the devs/GMs as to which category we should use for such things would be nice. Web based forms dont really make the user feel like they will get a reply soon...

When I posted a petition, I originally did it as "Other / Courier Missions" (I think)... When chatting with a Polaris person on the in game "Help Channel" he suggested that I should have raised it as a "Stuck"....
I did, and had a GM fix it within 12 hours...
Incidently, I got a message 6 days later replying to my original petition
Good luck dude... The message I got on the e-mail said "The itema may not be recoverable...."

* * * * ROLL BACK * * * *
What are you insane? What on earth for? Yes true that gms have a huge number of petions, it does take them an avg of two days to get back o you through mail.
But that is really no need to do a roll back on that idea...
Besides, that does not fix the problems.
Problems only gets fix if you solve them. Not run away fromthem... A roll back is not a sulation, the problems will still be there once the roll back are dont...
Man that is insane sulation.

Hmm, it says that on 'stuck' petition that you should only use it for being stuck. Kinda odd when a GM says to use it for losing stuff in courier missions.
I filed both an 'other' and 'bug' for this as I lost a ship that I wanted to lend to a corp mate... That's what you get for being helpful, lost items.
Still, its good to read a dev saying that they are working on setting things right. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope to get it back.
Just because we are paranoid, doesn't mean you're not out to get us. |
