HI CCP, your game isnt working right.

What really REALLY makes me mad is knowing most of those logged on right now are trial account haulers and miners taking up all those spaces. Full Cluster max = 7000 is a comlete utter joke. Especially since 17000 people are usually on at this time. This doesnt exactly look very good for a game that hasnt even done its patch yet. What can we expect after the patch? More of this? When is enough enough? Get rid of all these friggin trial accounts. Do MORE to curve all the chinese EBAY miners and control the population more. There are WAY too many alt's, trial accounts and garbage accounts. And the Banner STILL says "BACK UP!" for the last 45 minutes. It is NOT back up.

These trial players are what will turn into real new players and in turn make their friends play as well. Do you want to go back to day 1 of EVE with 4k people? Do you want EVE to stop growing? Gavin Kineli	Posted - 2005.12.14 02:46:00 - [4] Stop whining. The problem isn't too many people. CCP limits the number of players when they have a hardware problem. To prevent people from logging on and making the problem worse, they cap the server limit until the problem is fixed. The fact that it's limited, and the whole game just isn't crashing, means that's they're aware of it, and fixing it.

If CCP opens the server up to 18000 people at once and they all log in... it crashes. This has happened enough in EVE's history that they have learned their lesson. They have to open it up to a few thousand at a time in order to keep it stable. In an hour or two, it will be fully open. It has nothing to do with server capability. - Proud member of the [23]. Anyways, if you saw any of the small announcements on the login screen, they had DB probs which caused cluster problems.... Right probably parts of the server are down or being activated slowly, meaning it cant hold as much at the moment. Thats what i think any ways. You can see "full cluster" on your Windows PC by doing the following. 1. Open a web brower, disable all security. 2. Visit a heavily advertised website or a website with loads of pops up. 3. Notice that your web browser keeps popping up non stop and so fast that your PC will crash 4. At this point you should have about 1000 windows opened almost instantaneously within < 5s. Alternatively, take about 10 mins to open 1 window slowly until they sum up to 1000 windows. Your PC will be much more stable then, i.e. no slowing down or "hang syndrome", etc. I am sure you can see the similarity. ---------------- RecruitMe@NOINT!

You're stating an impossibility as the amount of trail accounts active on the server is capped. And if i remember well it's either 1500 or 3500 or something inbetween. Thus you're wrong. If the server crashes no one gets to play you and the maroes included. That's why they limit the number so that so many people logging in doesn't screw up the server. Think of the login server as an entrance door to the world of eve. 17,000 people trying to use one door will break it. So they let 1000 people in at a time. The login server cant distinguish between who is a macroer and who isnt.
