Not sure if this is where to post this question to, but here it goes anyway. With the new Asian bloodlines, will be be able to say switch our Amarr portrait with a Khanid portrait? I know I for one, had made my character with the intent of being of Asian decent as it was. It would only be fitting that 2 years later I would be allowed to finally do the finishing touches, and make her look Asian...
If I could get a definative answer on the subject, that would be good.
Thanx

The answer is no, but I still agree that you should be able to change it. Avatar and description is all thats needed to change afaik. -------------------------

I can certainly see why someone who's been roleplaying Khanid would want to make the switch.
However, from a technical point of view I can certainly see why CCP won't have it. Given that EVE is essentially a massive database, it's only logical to assume that there are tables for races and bloodlines. The base attributes are either stored in the bloodlines table or in a related table. Regardless, if you were to keep your own base attributes, a new 'version' of the Khanid bloodline would have to be added that holds (or links to) the base attributes of your current character. That's essentially the database equivalent of duct tape. Would get rather messy, which is why it makes perfect sense they won't have it: the db admin(s) would snap and I wouldn't blame them.

More than one day.
From the patch notes...
Quote: Bloodlines will be deployed in their own content update slated for January, 2006.

Edited by: Aarn Khaar on 14/12/2005 17:09:10 It makes sense that you are not allowed to exchange pictures with a different bloodline. The same as it is with changing pictures to a different gender.
The different bloodlines have different starting attributes. I know people have said well that even out once they get implants, etc... But if you allowed the changing of bloodlines, people would start with one bloodline that would allow them to go through things like learning quicker then switch to another.

Unfortunately, the new bloodlines will not make it into the deployment tomorrow. Features necessary for their inclusion in RMR were not completed in time. This was one of the items that delayed RMR's deployment to this evening.
Bloodlines will receive their own content update patch in January, 2006.

Speaking of races - why does the only black race have by far the lowest intelligence in the game?

Why dont they just delay the patch deployment until january so they can put it all on at the same the time? Im sure we would all rather a finished expansion if it meant waiting abit longer.

I don't know how they are going to explain the Gallente suddenly getting an asian bloodline, when the race description clearly states they are descended from the French.

The Intaki aren't French, I guess it'll be a similar story.

Gallente are french, yea, but the "bloodlines" are people from other planets that have become part of the federation.
I think we need a more distinctly african bloodline, brutor kind of is, but not really...
Also what does Asian bloodlines mean? Does that mean a bunch of chineese stereotypes or are we acctually going to see indians, slavs and so on... There are a lot more people then just "asians" in asia...

Slavs arent asian technically.

Politically slavs are usually refered to as "East european". Russia is also refered to as a european country even though the bulk of it is acctually in asia geographicly speaking. Then you also have your Kasachstans and Uzbekistans and what thei're all called... On top of that, the middle east is technially in asia too. Everything east of the Sinai is technically asia. Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Afganistan, Pakistan. Even Israel is located in Asia.
Well, I guess there has always been some debate about what is acctually Asia and what isn't, because the geographic region is so vast that usually when someone says asia they only mean "where chineese, japaneese, corans, vietnameese etc. are" (Far east)
What I'm really asking is wether or not we're going to see 4 varieties of the slit-eyed stereotype or a whole range of what asia as a continent has to offer...

Four new blood lines;
1: Japanese - Caldari
2: Chinese - Amarr
3: Indian - Galente
4: Arabic - Minmatar
These are speculations based on real world aspects of the four nations (Japan is highly industrialized, India is highly political, China is stratified, and the Middle East has some of the finest trained militaries in the world). |

They also get cool looking sunglasses. Hell, all CCP's needs to do now is add some gold fronts, fried chicken and watermelon.

Brutor aren't even really black, they just have large lips and slightly darker skin, but you need to tweak the lighting to make them look half way african...

Caldari are Japanese, Gallente are French, Amarr are Arabic (highly religious and monotheistic), Minmatar are African. -------------------------------------------------------- Lance Corporal BSC Military
