So I've fit out a few Stabbers to be like Vagabonds with training wheels (A because I can't sit in a Vaga yet, and B because even if I could they're expensive to lose when I don't even know if I'll enjoy their play style yet). It was a pretty simple exercise until I got to the drone bay. Should I stock it with a flight of ECM drones, or a flight of Warrior IIs? ECMs would be useful if I derp it up and let a frigate scram me, but I'd imagine a flight of Warrior IIs would drive off all but the most ballsy frigate in short order too. Thanks in advance, guys. |

If you think a loss is too expensive right now then go with ECM drones.
Otherwise go with Warrior IIs. Someone might want to use ECM drones against you, because Minmatar is generally weak on sensor strength. You then do not send your Warrior IIs on the target, but keep them in the drone bay and launch them only when you see others launching ECM drones so that the Warrior IIs can kill off the ECM drones with auto aggression. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

Only when you want to use drones that receive stacking penalties like tracking disruptor drones and stasis web drones will a mix be a good thing. If you do not get any stacking penalties as with ECM drones and combat drones then a mix only waters down the effect of each other and their use becomes unclear. It is then better to make use of large drone bays and to hold a variety of drones. Damage then always comes before everything, because only damage kills, or you need to have a good reason why not to choose damage. Loss is meaningful. Therefore is the loss of meaning likewise meaningful. It is the source of all trolling. |

Think about how long you expect to live vs your target.
If you are hunting things that will fight back, then you will want the ECM drones (though winning a fight using these makes you a bit of a pansy) if you are fighting smaller targets or ganking things that dont pose much of a risk go with the extra damage from warrior IIs
Personnely i only use EC drones on BCs and BS so i dont get tackled by some solo frigate numpty and die a slow agonizing death.
If you want to fight things and feel like a real man doing so, go with dps and dont hide behind ew. Cosmic signature detected. . . . http://i.imgur.com/Z7NfIS6.jpg

Yeah, I suppose the Warriors are always a known quantity, they always perform, wheres ECM sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. And of course, it will fail in the times I need it most, and the tank on my Stabber is paper thin. Sticking with Warriors removes a variable. It also stops me thinking stuff like "If I can just get one good jam on that uberpwnship, I can take it." I'm prone to thinking things like that. I like the fight more than I like the win. (Don't get me wrong, I love making the other guy blow up, but as long as a fight's been fun, I'm okay with losing ships)
Thanks for the input, guys. Much appreciated. |

Hornets are surprisingly savage I've found. One in five people are Chinese. There are five people in my family, so one must be Chinese. It's either my mum, my dad, my older brother Colin or my younger brother Ho-Cha-Chu. But I think it's Colin |
